Venki Ramakrishnan has been modest; he doesn't want a sudden surge of recognition and acclaim; of course, if emails come in thousands, his work will be affected; he doesn't disclaim his ancestry but doesn't want that to be highlighted as a matter for 'pride'; anyone born in any other country could also have got it, like it had happened in the past! To all, I am also born Indian but settled in USA and got US citizenship. I totally got a different meaning from his statement. He said that an individual is not important for this event. World is a small village and boundaries between countries are man made. Mother nature does not created the Map with different countries. We all human. That waht he said. I did ot see any type statement which says that he is ashame of his origin. In addition to this, sendig flood of emails to a person would really bother him. As he said he can't read / reply to those emails and those emails need to be deleted from the server. This would take really a significant amount of his time. This person in the name of “Unarvukal” is trying to sell subscription for his web publication. He uses different names on different days. He actually supports Singhalese against Tamil interests. He is anti-Saivite, Pro Ramayanam, and Mahabaratham. He represents Dheekshidars or Nambudris and writes often against Sivanadiyar Arumugasamy who was unjustly denied entrance into Natarajar temple in Chidambaram. He wrote that Sivanadiyar Arumugasamy does not know verses from Thevaram, Thiruvasagam, and is politicizing the denial of entrance to him by Nambudris or Dheekshidars. Readers beware of this anti-Tamil politician who is cunningly using Saivism to spread anti saivism, and anti Tamil feelings among the readers of Dinamani in the comments section of almost every news item.
