Blake to visit Colombo to steer LLRC course of politics

One of the main articulators of the system that architected the genocidal war in the country of Eezham Tamils and the US Asst. Secretary of State, Robert O. Blake Jr., will be visiting Colombo between September 12 and 14. According to a US State Department press release, he will be meeting Colombo’s External Affairs Minister G.L. Peiris and senior officials to discuss a wide range of issues, including progress in implementing the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) Action Plan. For 25 years New Delhi was harping on the 13th Amendment. Now the USA comes out with the LLRC implementation, which in the thrust of it, is worse than the 13th Amendment in the annihilation of the nation and territoriality of Eezham Tamils, commented Tamil political activists in the island, adding condemnation at the gullibility of the hijacked political dealers in the diaspora.

After luring sections in the diaspora by the possibility of bringing in the genocidal state under UN scrutiny through passing the UNHRC resolution, but at the same time linking Sri Lanka’s LLRC implementation to the resolution, the USA ultimately engineers internationally endorsed success to the genocidal course, the Tamil political activists in the island pointed out.

Blake’s visit to Colombo two days before the visit of the OHCHR assessment team of the UNHRC shows the steps taken by the USA in engineering the course, political observers said.

A few days ago, ICG trustee and former US Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage’s group of Sri Lanka friends held talks with a largely like-minded civil society in Colombo. “LLRC report is the bible for civil society,” proclaimed Jehan Perera, one of the participants in the meeting.

A few weeks ago, the US State Department invited handpicked Tamil journalists in the island to the USA, to brief them on the necessity of dropping any expression of nationhood, territoriality and the right to self-determination of Eezham Tamils.

Dr. Deepa Ollapally of Kerala origin, a specialist of South Asian affairs including ‘terrorism’ in the George Washington University was among the people arranged by the US State Department to brief the visiting Tamil journalists on detracting the national question of Eezham Tamils.

The TESO group going to New York and Geneva in the third week of September, following the OHCHR team visit to Colombo shouldn’t turn out to become part of the game is the concern of the grassroots in Tamil Nadu.

Recently, the request of one of the constituent parties of the TESO to Congress president Sonia Gandhi was implementation of the LLRC recommendations as solution to ‘Sri Lankan’ Tamils, the grassroot activists in Tamil Nadu pointed out.

But the worst situation pointed out by Tamil activists in the island and in the diaspora is that some articulating individuals in a largely non-elected umbrella organisation in the diaspora succumbing to the West’s agenda.

The individuals put at the helm of affairs of this organisation are unnerved by the campaign of survivalists planted in the diaspora and by those who link their political career to ICG and party politics in the West. They are influenced to abandon the fundamentals and a transparent people’s struggle in the diaspora, but to take up the LLRC course, diaspora activist circles that may soon rebel against such a polity told TamilNet.

In a bold voice coming from the island, Tamil civil society representatives addressing HE Navanetham Pillai, cautioned the UNHRC last week not to give more time to Colombo to complete its Sinhalicisation of the North and East, by further endorsement to LLRC implementation.

“We are afraid that the November 2012 Universal Periodic Review on Sri Lanka and the March 2013 review of the Resolution will result in the endorsement of the GOSL’s National Action plan on implementing the recommendations of the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission, thus giving more time to the GOSL to continue and complete its agenda of Sinhalisation of the North and East,” the letter by the Tamil civil society representatives sent to OHCHR under gagged conditions in the island said.

But such a protest was missing from the free diaspora actors.

The US Asst. Secretary of State visiting Colombo will also hold a roundtable with civil society representatives and meet with business community leaders at the American Chamber of Commerce in Colombo, the State Department press release said last Friday.

The ‘civil society’ simulated in Colombo is different from the civil society in the country of Eezham Tamils that is gagged, isolated, harangued and intimidated, said activists in Jaffna and Batticaloa.

What is the response of the diaspora to the unfolding engineering is the question angrily raised by the political and social workers silently operating under gagged conditions in the island.

The silence of the grassroot in the free diaspora would turn a liberation struggle into a ‘survival movement’ and that is the achievement aimed by the architects of the genocidal war, cautioned the gagged activists in the island.
