Chidambaram harps on PC while Colombo’s SC rules against land powers

While the New Delhi Establishment’s Finance Minister and one in the coterie that steered the course of the genocidal war in the island, Mr P. Chidambaram on Monday was harping on working for a ‘permanent solution’ based on the 13th Amendment and ‘improving’ upon it, genocidal Colombo’s Supreme Court on Thursday ruled against the land powers of the Provincial Councils. The bench included Colombo’s current Chief Justice Mohan Peiris. Earlier, another Chief Justice Sarath Silva ruled against the unification of the North and East, effected through the Indo-Lanka Accord and the 13A.

Hailing TNA victory, Chidambaram stated, “I am confident that the TNA will be able to secure maximum autonomy for the provinces, devolution of power to the provinces, equal rights and equal respect for Tamils and other minorities, acknowledgement of the traditional rights of Tamils to their homeland and adequate participation in the governance of the country,” The Hindu reported on Tuesday.

Rights over the land are vested with the government in Colombo and not the Provincial Councils, Colombo’s Supreme Court ruled on Thursday in a case related to a land dispute in the Central Province, Colombo media reports said.

M.A. Sumanthiran who wants Tamils to believe that the PC is a ‘starting point’ fought the case and lost it.

While earlier judgements of Colombo’s SC upheld the land powers of the PCs to some extent, the current judgement is timed for the NPC, Colombo media reports said.

When the East was delinked from the North, it became ground reality for New Delhi. Eezham Tamils totally losing territoriality both in the North and East also will be easily said as ground reality by New Delhi and Washington in a few years of time, Tamil political activists in the island said.

New Delhi’s ego is shown only with Eezham Tamils in thrusting the 13A into their throats, even when Colombo repeatedly proves that the 13A will not work with the genocidal State, the activists further said.
