Deeper motives of Nayinaatheevu Sinhala Buddhicisation aim Tamil Nadu, India
[TamilNet, Wednesday, 06 April 2016, 10:23 GMT]
There are motives deeper than mere demographic genocide of the country of Eezham Tamils in the Sinhala-Buddhicisation of Nayinaa-theevu, Nedun-theevu (Delft) and Mannaar by the Colombo-centric State in the island. The ultimate aim, as attested by historical precedents, is Tamil Nadu and India, commented political observers in Jaffna comparing the genocidal Sri Lanka Navy-backed Sinhala Buddhicisation to the times of Parakramabahu I in the 12th century. This king who militarily occupied the country of Eezham Tamils and titled himself as ‘Sahala Simhala Chakravarti’ (All Sinhala Emperor), built a navy at Kayts and Mannaar and in the next stage occupied Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu to build Buddhist stupas there.
Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu, controlling the Palk Bay maritime route, was occupied for some time by the Sinhala forces in the 12th century. Next, the king made a failed naval expedition to Burma also. Tamil Nadu at that time was able to stop the aggressions. But today, the New Delhi centric polity is not protecting Tamils from aggression and genocide. New Delhi thinks of building an empire at the cost of Tamils, the observers commented.
The ‘Sri Lanka’ Navy paying full focus on the islands off Jaffna and Mannaar has to be viewed in larger perspectives. This is a systematically conceived military cum demographic security threat for Tamil Nadu, India and the entire region, on which New Delhi is foolishly tilting the balance against Tamils. The ‘Indus-Gangetic Plain’ political thinking in New Delhi, arguing between the Mauryan Empire and the Gupta Empire, is not awakened to the realities in the South in the Indian Ocean. Even Tamil Nadu is not awakened to it, the observers further said.
Building an imposing Buddha statue at Nayinaa-theevu, changing its name to Sinhala and the Sinhala Buddhist monk there backed by the Sinhala navy collecting his own revenue through boat service skipping taxes to the local civil administration of Tamils, have to be viewed in the light of what Parakramabahu did in the 12th century, the times of the last substantial Sinhala occupation. At least Parakrama Bahu had the courtesy of issuing inscriptions in Tamil, unlike the present genocidal regimes imposing Sinhalicisation too.
One may say that Tamils unnecessarily talk about the past to bring in disharmony in the region. But, the Sinhala Buddhist psyche consciously operating in the same lines could be seen in every small thing it is doing in the North and East. No regional or world conscience is stopping it, the observers said.
In the meantime, religious fundamentalism in the region is deliberately cultivated and supported by larger global forces that have ulterior motives, the observers further said.
