No sign of ‘change’ in shifting genocidal military away from residential areas in East
[TamilNet, Saturday, 23 April 2016, 23:29 GMT]
The 11th Regiment of the occupying Sinhala Army, organized under the 233 Brigade of the military of genocidal Sri Lanka, is refusing to release the lands belonging to Murakkoddaan-cheanai Government Tamil Mixed School, situated 18 km north of the city of Batticaloa on Batticaloa – Vaazhaichcheanai Road zonal education officials told TamilNet on Friday. The SL military is also occupying the lands that belong to 25 Tamil families in the surroundings of the lands of the school. There is no sign of SL military making the area suitable for civil life. The school is operating at a different location 200 meters away from the seized lands. Continued militarisation of residential areas should be perceived by Tamils realising how large tracts of farm lands are being seized for demographic genocide by occupying Sri Lanka and how ‘Mahaweli’ scheme is conceived to complete the genocide in East.
Although the school is operating at a different locality, the residential area surrounding the old location of the school remains a militarized zone. The owners of the lands have been demanding the education sector officers to address the issue, the officials further said.

In the meantime, the SL military
has intentionally left behind the military constructions, including the
barbed-wire positions, bunkers and check-post constructions at several
localities such as Chanthi-ve’li-eattam, Maavadi-vempu and
Kumpu’ru-moolai in the district. Buddha statues are also located in some
places. Tamil civilians are afraid to reclaim these lands and the
provincial and divisional authorities are reluctant to issue letters
confirming that the landowners could clear the remains of the old
military positions.
The real reason for sustaining the military grip on residential areas, especial in former LTTE-administered areas, is to proceed with the scheme of demographic genocide through ‘Mahaweli’ scheme to the north and south of strategic Trincomalee, the Tamil officials said. The occupying min-camps in the residential areas come under the coordination of the main military cantonments such as the ones at Punaanai, which come under the ‘System B’ of Mahaweli occupation.
The people from Kangkuveali and Pazhave'li have revealed how vast number of farm lands are being seized from Tamils at both the localities and how the trend of demographic genocide is continuing under the regime of Sirisena and Ranil.
From Pazhav-ve'li, located south of Batticaloa in Ampaa'rai to Kangkuveali situated to the north of Batticaloa in Trincomalee, the SL military is coordinated according to ‘Mahaweli Maithiripala Chinthana’ which replaces ‘Mahinda Chinthana’ following the so-called regime change, commented Tamil activists in East.
At Ampaa’rai, SLA units occupied public and private lands situated in residential areas to establish additional camps at Aalaiyadi-vempu, Thirukkoayil, Koamaari, Kaaraitheevu and Naavithan-ve’li. The SLA is still reluctant to reluctant to relocate itself from the residential areas, news sources in Ampaa’rai said.
The SLA had moved in after the notorious STF commando units were relocated to take part in the genocidal onslaught in Vanni after capturing the villages that were under the LTTE control in Ampaa’rai in 2007.
