US designs target Trincomalee, Champoor Tamils remain deprived of compensation

The occupying navy of genocidal ‘Sri Lanka’ is buying time to vacate its naval school ‘SLNS Vidura’, which is situated in 40 acres of 237 acres of SL navy seized lands in Champoor. The resettling Tamils are unable to access their lands within the remaining areas of 237 acres as the main routes to these lands run through the 40 acres of lands of the naval training base. Although the SL Navy has moved the activities from the training base, a few officers are instructed to stay behind to delay the process. Now, the occupying navy is buying time citing monsoon rains. The uprooted people have been explicitly demanding the SL authorities to relocate the military before the monsoon rains. In the meantime, SL Governor to East, Austin Fernando, a former SL defence secretary, is busy in scheming US entry into Trincomalee, informed sources in Trincomalee said.
The former defence secretary (UNP) during the LTTE - GoSL negotiations is behind buying time and space for ousting Rajapaksa's Chinese connections in Trincomalee and facilitating US entry through containment and false consents, informed Tamil officials said.
The current SL President Maithiripala Sirisena (SLFP), who was the acting defence secretary with command responsibilities during the genocidal slaughter at Mu'l'livaaykkaal, is being assisted and adviced by Austin Fernando to accommodate US entry into the strategic Trincomalee.
In the meantime, TNA's Sampanthan, who has been hoping to gain ‘shared sovereignty’ through trading Indian entry to Trincomalee, is being assisted and adviced by M.A. Sumanthiran, who is leaning towards facilitating US entry into the region.
Amidst all the powers-oriented manipulations targeting Trincomalee, the promises given to uprooted Eezham Tamils in Champoor have gone with the winds.
Out of 236 acres that should be released to public in the SL Navy seized lands, only 20 acres has been released so far. 57 families have gained access to these 20 acres. 60 acres was supposed to be released weeks ago, but there has been no progress, the uprooted people complain.
The SL civll authorities, receiving instructions from the SL Governor Austin Fernando, are delaying the resettlement and keep the resettling people under containment by controlling their access to resettlement continuing decades-old tradition of using red tape to keep the Tamils subdued.
Access routes and basic facilities such as temporary shelters, access to potable water, toilets and dry rations are intentionally restricted to keep the resettling people under containment to facilitate the changing designs of Colombo-centric ‘development’ paradigm.
The public sector employees from Champoor are being instructed to use the ‘bank loan’ facilities provided to government staff as a substitute to resettlement aid. Such discrimination was not in practice even in other districts, the public sector employees complain. Those receiving pension for their public sector employment in the past also fall into this category.
The people were uprooted from Champoor since 2006. The newly married couples after 2006 during their displacement are being refused of access to aid through various classifications.
If a partner of the new couple is a woman from Champoor, the family is allowed to make a claim for resettlement assistance. But, if a male had married a woman outside Champoor, the couple is refused access to aid.
Similarly, the uprooted people are yet to benefit from the Indian Housing Scheme.
Under these circumstances, 263 families have put up temporary shelters in the already released 818 acres of lands without proper basic human needs.
