Mavai wants Tamils to vote at SL presidential elections

Tamil people should use their voting rights without fail in the upcoming Sri Lankan presidential election. The Tamil National Alliance is in the process of preparing statement to be issued very shortly in this regard in few days, said Mr. Mavai Senathirajah, Jaffna district parliamentarian and the President of the Ilankai Tamil Arasu Katchchi (ITAK), a constituent party of the TNA.
A TNA statement would be made public on the arrival of TNA leader Mr.R.Sampanthan from India shortly, he added while addressing a media briefing after the a get-together with the representatives of the grassroots groups in Vanni held on Sunday morning at Vavuniyaa Urban Council Cultural Hall.
TNA spokesman Suresh Premachandran of the EPRLF in Jaffna has already issued a similar statement.
TELO’s Vanni district TNA parliamentarians Selvam Adaikalanathan, Vino Noharathalingam, and Sivasakthi Anandan attended the get-together of the ITAK in Vavuniyaa on Sunday. PLOTE leader and the Northern Provincial Councillor Tharmalingam Siddharthan, Provincial Minister P. Sathialinagam and representatives of local authorities in the Northern Province also participated.
Mavai Senathirajah further stated that the TNA had not taken a final decision on the upcoming presidential election but it had decided that Tamil people should cast their votes.
The matter in question that to whom Tamil people would cast their franchise would be revealed with the arrival of Mr Sampanthan from India, Mr Senathiraja reiterated.
