Occupying Colombo chases 450 Tamil deserters enlisted by SL military in North

The occupying Sinhala military of genocidal Sri Lanka is silently deploying targeted search operations to arrest conscripted Tamils, who are absconding from their military enlistment in the Northern province. A total of 450 of 600 Tamils, recruited to SL military through deceptive methods after 2009, have escaped from the genocidal grips of the SL military in the North, informed sources told TamilNet on Monday. They were deceived with the promise of non-military civil work and good salaries, but after they signed up, they were given a basic form of ‘disciplinary’ training and showcased in parades with military uniforms against their wish. Later, they were deployed as slaves in the military-run farms inside the so-called High Security Zones (HSZ). Now, the absconding victims have become subjects for search and arrest operations by the SL military. The victims are now seeking protection.
Poverty-stricken Tamil men and women were deceived to join as applicants for subsidiary non-military employment such as masons, carpenters, woodcutters and painters. Tamil women were also targeted with employment opportunities as dance teachers, music teachers and tailors. The agents who arranged the interviews were given large sums of money during the regime of Rajapaksa.
Tamil women, who were opposed to the move, were subjected to threat and there were several reports of abuse at the hands of the SL military.
Maithiripala Sirisena's regime is also continuing the same trend by dealing with the conscripted Tamils as deserters of the SL military.
Most of the remaining 150 Tamils are kept under severe surveillance inside the occupied HSZ. Many of them unable to escape from them are Tamil women, the sources said.
Those who try to escape citing various reasons are identified at the borders and sent back to Palaali military base where they have to serve under the direct supervision of the Sinhala commanders.
The victimised Tamil ‘soldiers’ are deployed at the offices of commanders as slave workers and are placed under the direct monitoring of the hard-core Sinhala soldiers.
The ‘elite’ forces and commanders who committed various crimes during the final onslaught on Vanni are given all the facilities inside the HSZ while average poverty-stricken Sinhala soldiers are deployed outside the HSZ, the sources further said.
There are also a section of Tamil ‘slaves’ who shuttle between their residences and the military HSZ in military vehicles. They are transported forth and back in military vehicles between their residences and the farms being operated by the SL military inside the HSZ. One of them told TamilNet that it was worse than going for slave work in the Middle-East. “Everyday, I feel like as a refugee and as a slave in my own country,” the shuttling Tamil ‘soldier’ told TamilNet.
There are also some ex-LTTE combatants, who have undergone ‘military rehabilitation’ among these ‘soldiers’. The ‘enlisted’ Tamils are given good salary as their names were included in the pay list as military personnel. But, all of them are deployed as slaves in the farms run by the SL military.
While attempting to showcase the military enlistment of Tamils as LLRC-based reconciliation to the outside world, the SL military was enacting ‘military reconciliation’ for the genocidal unity of the island. The move was receiving tacit support from all the powers, locked in the competition of grooming the SL military to accomplish their geo-political objectives in the Indian Ocean Region.
