திருப்பரங்குன்றம் , ஜூலை 17: மது ரை மாவட்டம், திருப்பரங்குன்றம் பகுதியில் உள்ள பழங்கால வரலாற்றுச் சின்னங்கள் முறையான பராமரிப்பின்றி அழிவின் விளிம்பில் உள்ளதாக புகார் எழுந்துள்ளது. மதுரையை அடுத்துள்ள திருப்பரங்குன்றம் ஸ்ரீ முருகப்பெருமானின் அறுபடை வீடுகளில் முதற்படை வீடாக விளங்குகிறது. குடவரைக் கோயிலான இத்தலத்தில் அருள்மிகு சுப்பிரமணியசுவாமி, தெய்வானை திருமணக் கோலத்தில் அருள்பாலிப்பது சிறப்பான அம்சமாகும். திருப்பரங்குன்றத்தில் அரிய பல வரலாற்றுச் சின்னங்கள் இருந்தும், அவை குறித்த விளம்பரங்கள், வழிகாட்டிப் பலகைகள் இல்லாததால், அவை சுற்றுலாப் பயணிகளின் கவனத்துக்கு வராமலேயே போய்விட்டதாகப் புகார் எழுந்துள்ளது. சமணர் படுகைகள்: பல நூற்றாண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு திருப்பரங்குன்றம் பகுதி சமணர்களின் வாழ்விடமாக இருந்துள்ளது. இங்குள்ள சமணர் படுகைக்குச் செல்ல, தொல்பொருள் ஆராய்ச்சியாளர்கள் மூலம் படிக்கட்டுகள் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. ஆனால், அவை முறையான பராமரிப்பின்றி சிதிலமடைந்து காணப்படுகிறது. அதேபோல, சமணர்கள் வசித்த குகைக்கு யாரும் செல்ல முடியாத அளவுக்கு ஆக்கிரமிப்புகளும், முட்புதர்களும் நிரம்பி உள்ளன. தென்பரங்குன்றம் குடவரைக் கோயில்: திருப்பரங்குன்றம் மலையின் பின்புறம் அமைந்துள்ள குடவரைக் கோயிலானது, கி.பி. 8-ம் நூற்றாண்டில் கட்டப்பட்டது என்று தொல்பொருள் ஆராய்ச்சியாளர்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றனர். தொல்லியல் துறை சார்பாக பராமரிக்கப்பட்டு வரும் இந்தக் கோயில் பெரும்பாலும் பூட்டியே கிடக்கிறது. பதினாறுகால் மண்டபம்: திருப்பரங்குன்றம் கோயிலுக்குச் செல்லும் வழியில் சன்னதி தெருவில் உள்ளது 16 கால் மண்டபம். இது பல ஆண்டுகளாக பூட்டியே கிடக்கிறது. ஆக்கிரமிப்பாளர்கள் பிடியில் உள்ள இந்த பதினாறுகால் மண்டபம் விளம்பர பேனர்கள் கட்டவும், அரசியல் கட்சியினர் ஆர்ப்பாட்டம் மற்றும் பொதுக்கூட்டம் நடத்தும் இடமாகவும் மாறியுள்ளது. நக்கீரர் குகை: இது சரவணப் பொய்கை பகுதியில் அமைந்துள்ளது. முற்காலத்தில் நக்கீரர் சரவணப்பொய்கை பகுதியில் கடும் தவம் மேற்கொண்டதாகவும், அப்போது அவரை கட்முகி எனும் பூதம் சிறைப்பிடித்து, அருகில் உள்ள குகையில், 999 துறவியரோடு அடைத்து வைத்ததாகவும், அவர்களை முருகப்பெருமான் விடுவித்ததாகவும், அதனால் நக்கீரர் திருமுருகாற்றுப்படை எனும் காப்பியத்தை இயற்றியதாகவும் செவிவழிச் செய்திகள் உள்ளன. இந்த நக்கீரர் குகை, தற்போது சமூக விரோதிகள் கூடாரமாக மாறிவிட்டதாக பொதுமக்கள் வேதனை தெரிவிக்கின்றனர். புண்ணிய தீர்த்தங்கள்: ராமேசுவரம் போன்று, திருப்பரங்குன்றம் கோயில் பகுதியிலும் அதனைச் சுற்றிய இடங்களிலும் பல புண்ணியத் தீர்த்தங்கள் இருந்தன. ஒரு காலத்தில் இந்த தீர்த்தத்தை நோய்த் தீர்க்கும் மருந்தாக பக்தர்கள் அருந்தியதாகவும், மதுரைக்கு எடுத்துச் சென்று விற்பனை செய்ததாகவும் வரலாறு உள்ளது. ஆனால், அவற்றில் ஒருசில தீர்த்தங்கள் தவிர, மற்றவை பராமரிப்பின்றி குப்பைகள் மண்டி காணப்படுகிறது. இதுபோன்ற பழமையான அரிய வரலாற்றுச் சின்னங்களை புதுப்பித்து பராமரிக்காவிட்டால், அவை இருந்த தடம் தெரியாமல் அழிந்துவிடும் அபாயம் உள்ளதாக அப்பகுதியினர் தெரிவிக்கின்றனர். ஆகவே, சம்பந்தப்பட்ட அதிகாரிகள் இந்த வரலாற்றுச் சின்னங்களை பாதுகாக்க நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டும் எனக் கோரிக்கை வைத்துள்ளனர். திண்டுக்கல்லைச் சேர்ந்த கண்ணன் என்பவர் கூறுகையில், திருப்பரங்குன்றம் பகுதியில் சமணர் குகை இருப்பதாகக் கேள்விப்பட்டு வந்தோம். ஆனால், அங்கு செல்ல முடியாத அளவுக்கு முட்புதர்களும், ஆக்கிரமிப்புகளும் உள்ளதால் பார்க்க முடியவில்லை என்றார். பாண்டி என்பவர் கூறுகையில், திருப்பரங்குன்றத்தில் சில லட்ச ரூபாய் செலவில் இந்த அரிய வரலாற்றுச் சின்னங்களைப் புதுப்பித்தால் பக்தர்கள் வருகையும் அதிகரிக்கும் என்றார். இதுகுறித்து கோவில் நிர்வாக அதிகாரி இரா. செந்தில்வேலவன் கூறுகையில்,மலைக்குப் பின்புறம் உள்ள குடவரைக் கோவிலும்,சமணர் படுகையும் தொல்லியல் துறையினர் பராமரிப்பில் உள்ளது. அதேசமயத்தில் கோயில் வசமுள்ள பதினாறுகால் மண்டபம்,நக்கீரர் குகை, புண்ணியத் தீர்த்தங்களைச் சீரமைத்து விரைவில் பொதுமக்கள் பயன்பாட்டுக்குக் கொண்டுவர உயர் அதிகாரிகளின் அனுமதி பெற்று நடவடிக்கை மேற்கொள்ளப்படும் என்றார்.

இலங்கை சிங்கள பெளத்த இனவெறி அரசின் தமிழின அழிப்புப் போருக்கு எல்லா வகையிலும் உதவி, தமிழனைக் கொன்று குவித்த குருதிக் கரைபடிந்த இந்திய மத்திய காங்கிரஸ் அரசு, தமிழீழ மக்களின் விடுதலைக்காக தொடர்ந்து போராடிவரும் தமிழீழ விடுதலைப் புலிகள் இயக்கத்தின் மீதான தடையை மேலும் இரண்டு ஆண்டுகள் நீட்டிப்பதாக அறிவிக்கை வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.

இந்திய அரசின் உள்துறை அமைச்சகத்தின் இணைச் செயலர் தர்மேந்திர சர்மா கையெழுத்திட்டு விடுத்துள்ள அந்த அறிவிக்கையில், இந்தியாவிற்கு எதிரான நிலைப்பாட்டை தொடர்ந்து கடைபிடித்துவரும் விடுதலைப் புலிகள் இயக்கத்தால், இந்திய குடிமக்களுக்கு பெரும் பாதுகாப்பு அச்சுறுத்தல் உள்ளதாகவும், எனவே புலிகள் இயக்கத்தை சடடத்திற்குப் புறம்பான இயக்கமாக அறிவிக்க வேண்டிய அவசியம் உள்ளதாகவும் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இந்திய உள்துறை அமைச்சகத்தின் இந்த வாதம் எந்த சான்றும் அற்ற, திட்டமிட்ட திசை திருப்பல் ஆகும். இலங்கையில் தமிழருக்கு எதிரான போரை நடத்த ராஜபக்சவுக்கு முழுமையாக உதவி, ஒன்றே முக்கால் இலட்சம் தமிழர்களை அழித்தொழிக்க இந்திய மத்திய காங்கிரஸ் அரசு உதவியது என்பதை உலகே அறியும். ஆனால் அந்த அளவிற்கு உதவியும், ராஜபக்ச அரசு இந்தியாவோடு நிற்காமல், முழுமையாக சீனாவின் நட்பு நாடாக மாறிவிட்டது. அம்மன்தோட்டா துறைமுகத்தில் இருந்து, இலங்கையில் பல திட்டங்களை செயல்படுத்துவது மூலம் அந்நாட்டிற்குள் சீனா வலிமையாக கால் பதித்து விட்டது. தமிழ்நாடு அரசின் ஒப்புதலின்றி தாரை வார்க்கப்பட்ட கச்சத் தீவில் சீனா தனது கடைப்படை தளத்தை அமைக்க முயற்சித்து வருவதை தமிழ்நாட்டின் மீனவர்களுக்குக் கூட தெரிந்து இரகசியமாகும். இலங்கை பிரச்சனையில் தமிழினத்திற்கு எதிராக இந்திய மத்திய காங்கிரஸ் அரசு கடைபிடித்த அயலுறவுக் கொள்கை, அதன் எதிரி நாடான சீனா இலங்கையில் வலிமையாக கால் பதிக்க உதவிவிட்டது. இப்போது சீனத்தின் அச்சுறுத்தல் வளையத்திற்குள் இந்தியாவின் தென்பகுதி சிக்கியுள்ளது என்பதே இராணுவ ரீதியான உண்மையாகும். சீனாவிற்கு ஆதரவாக ராஜபக்ச அரசு செயல்பட்டுவருவதன் எதிரொலியே அமெரிக்காவும், இந்தியாவும் ஒன்றாக நின்று ஐ.நா. மனித உரிமை மன்றத்தில் இலங்கை அரசுக்கு எதிரான போர்க்குற்ற விசாரணை தீர்மானத்திற்கு வாக்களித்தன. ஆயினும் சீன நட்பை உதரித்தள்ள ராஜபக்ச இணங்கவில்லை. இலங்கையின் வட பகுதியில் உள்ள பலாலி விமான தளத்தை விரிவுபடுத்தும் இந்தியாவின் திட்டத்தை ராஜபக்ச அரசு நிராகரித்துவிட்டது அதற்கு அத்தாட்சியாகும். எனவே விடுதலைப் புலிகளால் இந்தியாவின் குடிமக்களுக்கு அச்சுறுத்தல் என்று உள்துறை அமைச்சகம் கூறுவது சீனத்தால் ஏற்பட்டுள்ள அச்சறுத்தலை மறைக்கும் மோசடியாகும்.

விடுதலைப் புலிகளின் தோல்விக்கு இந்திய அரசின் தலைவர்களும், அதிகாரிகளும்தான் காரணம் என்று புலம் பெயர்ந்த தமிழர்கள் இணையத் தளங்களில் பரப்புரை செய்து வருகின்றனர் என்று குற்றம் சாற்றுகிறது உள்துறை அமைச்சகத்தின் அறிவிக்கை. அதில் என்ன பிழை உள்ளது என்று தெரியவில்லை. தமிழினத்தின் விடுதலைப் போராட்டத்தை அழித்தொழிக்க, அவர்களோடு நின்ற ஒன்றே முக்கால் இலட்சம் தமிழர்களை அழித்தொழிக்க இந்திய மத்திய காங்கிரஸ் அரசு உதவியதா இல்லையா? எம் இனத்தை அழித்தொழித்த அரசுக்கு எதிராக பரப்புரை செய்வதில் என்ன தவறு?

போரில் தோற்கடிக்கப்பட்ட பிறகும் ஈழ விடுதலை எனும் கருத்தை விடுதலைப் புலிகள் இயக்கம் கைவிடவில்லை என்றும், ஈழ விடுதலைக்காக இன்றளவும் அது இரகசியமாக செயல்ப்பட்டு வருகிறது என்றும் கூறியுள்ள உள்துறை அமைச்சக அறிக்கை, தமிழீழம் எனும் தமிழர்களுக்காண தனி நாடு என்ற கோரிக்கை இந்தியாவின் ஒற்றுமைக்கு இறையாண்மைக்கும் அச்சறுத்தல் என்றும் அது இந்தியாவை பிளவுபடுத்தும் நோக்கம் கொண்டது என்றும் கூறியுள்ளது.

தமிழீழ விடுதலை என்பது அரை நூற்றாண்டுக் காலமாக நடந்துவரும் அரசியல் விடுதலைப் போராட்டம். தங்களுடைய இனத்தை திட்டமிட்டு அழித்துவரும் சிங்கள பெளத்த இனவாத அரசின் பிடியில் இருந்து விடுபட்டு தனிநாடு காண்பது மட்டுமே, ஈழத் தமிழினத்தை அழிவின் பிடியில் இருந்து காத்துக்கொள்வதற்கான ஒரே வழி என்பதில் உறுதியுடன் இருந்து எம் சொந்தங்கள் நடத்திவரும் போராட்டமாகும். அதற்காகவே தமிழீழ விடுதலைப் புலிகள் இயக்கம் பிறந்தது. எனவே, அந்த இலக்கை புலிகள் இயக்கம் மட்டுமல்ல, தமிழினம் ஒருபோதும் விட்டுத்தராது. அதனால்தான் தமிழர்களின் பெரும் தாயாகமான தமிழ்நாட்டில் தமிழீழ விடுதலைக்கு பெரும் ஆதரவு நிலவுகிறது. அதன் எதிரொலியே தமிழக சட்டப் பேரவைத் தேர்தலில் காங்கிரஸ் – திமுக கூட்டணிக்கு விழுந்த மரண அடி என்பதை இந்திய மத்திய அரசு புரிந்துகொள்ள வேண்டும்.

தங்களது இயக்கம் இந்தியாவின் ஒற்றுமைக்கோ, அதன் இறையாண்மைக்கோ அல்லது அதன் பூகோள நலன்களுக்கு ஒருபோது எதிரானதல்ல என்பதை தமிழீழ தேசியத் தலைவர் மேதகு பிரபாகரன், சுதுமலை பொதுக்கூட்டத்தில் இருந்து தான் ஆற்றிய பல மாவீரர் தின உரைகளில் உறுதிப்படுத்தியுள்ளார். எனவே இலங்கையில் தமிழர்கென்று தனி நாடு என்பது அங்கு வாழும் இஸ்லாமிய தமிழர்கள் உள்ளிட்ட அனைவருக்கும் ஆனதே என்றும் தமிழீழ விடுதலைப் புலிகள் அழுத்தம் திருத்தமாக பல முறை கூறியுள்ளனர். அதனை நன்றாக அறிந்திருந்தும், அவர்களின் இலக்கு இந்தியாவின் ஒற்றுமைக்கும் இறையாண்மைக்கு எதிரானது என்று ஒவ்வொரு முறையும் இந்திய மத்திய அரசு கூறுவது, அப்படிக் கூறினால்தான் அந்த இயக்கத்தை தடை செய்ய முடியும் என்பதற்காகவும், தமிழீழ விடுதலைக்கு தமிழ்நாட்டு மக்கள் உதவிடாமல் தடுத்திட முடியும் என்பதற்காகவுமே என்பதை விவரமறிந்த அனைவரும் புரிந்தே உள்ளனர்.

இலங்கைத் தமிழர்கள் நலனில் அக்கறை உள்ளதாகக் கூறி தமிழினத்தை ஏமாற்றிவருகிறது மத்திய காங்கிரஸ் அரசு. போர் முடிந்து 3 ஆண்டுகள் ஆகிவிட்ட பிறகும், அவர்களுக்கு ஒரு நேர்மையாக அரசியல் தீர்வை பெற்றுத் தர யோக்கியதை அற்ற இந்திய அரசு, இலங்கை அரசுடன் இணைந்து தான் நடத்திய தமிழினப் படுகொலையை மறைக்க, ஈழத் தமிழினத்தின் விடுதலைக்காகப் போராடிய ஒரு தியாக இயக்கத்தை சட்டத்திற்கு எதிரான இயக்கம் என்று கூறி தடை செய்வவது, அது தனது குற்ற முகத்தை மூடிக்கொள்ளும் முயற்சியே தவிர, அதனால் தமிழீழ விடுதலையை தடுத்து நிறுத்திட முடியாது. இந்தியாவின் பூகோள நலனும், பாதுகாப்பும் உறுதியாக வேண்டுமெனில் இலங்கையில் தமிழர்கென்று ஒரு நாடு பிறந்தால் மட்டுமே சாத்தியமாகும் என்பதையும், தெற்காசியப் பகுதியில் மாபெரும் இராஜதந்திர தோல்வியை சந்தித்துள்ள இந்திய மத்திய அரசு, தமிழீழ விடுதலையை ஆதரிக்கும் காலக்கட்டாயம் ஏற்படும் என்பதையும் நாம் தமிழர் கட்சி அழுத்தம் திருத்தமாகத் தெரிவித்துக்கொள்கிறது.

டெசோ மாநாட்டில் தமிழீழ கோரிக்கை கிடையாது- கருணா.

அப்படியானால் டெசோ (thamizh eezha supporters organisation ) டெசோ விற்கு பதிலாக என்ன பெயர் வைத்து நடத்த போகிறார்?
மீதமுள்ள ஈழ தமிழர் பாதுகாப்பதற்காக மாநாடு நடத்துவதாக அறிந்தேன் .அதாவது Remainig Eezha Thamizhs Save OrganisationRETSO என்ற புது பெயரிலா ?
மீதமுள்ளோறும் கொஞ்சம் கொஞ்சமாக கொல்லப்படுவதையும் வேடிக்கை பார்த்து …எங்கோ ஒரு சில தமிழர்கள் உள்ளார்கள் அவர்களை பாதுகாக்கஎன்னைவிட்டால் வேறு ஆழ் இல்லை என அந்த நேரம் ஒரு மாநாடு நடத்துவார் அரிய ஈழ தமிழர் பாதுகாப்பு மாநாடு அதாவது ரெட்சோ RETSO Rare Eezha Thamizhs Save Organisation
கருணாநிதியின் துரோகத்தின் விழைவு முள்ளிவாய்க்கால் படுகொலையோடு நின்றுவிடவில்லை சிங்களனால் இன்றைய நிலையில் தினமும் 90 பேர்அளவில்   செத்து மடிகின்றனர்,அதில்  கொல்லப்படுபவர்கள் அதிகம் ,தினமும் 100 க்கு குறைவில்லாது எம் சகோதர சகோதரிகள்கற்பழிக்கப்படுகின்றனர் அதை கண்டும் காணாது விட்டுகொண்டிருப்பவர் சமிபத்தில் ஒரு லட்சம் தொண்டர்களை வைத்து சிறை நிரப்பும் போராட்டம் நடத்தினார் எதற்க்காக என எல்லோருக்கும் தெரியும்

அப்போதும் டேசொவை இந்திய ஆதரிக்கவில்லை ஈழ தமிழ் தலைவர்களை தமிழ் நாட்டைவிட்டு அனுப்ப உத்தரவிட்டது அதனை எதிர்த்து புதுதில்லிசென்று போராடினர் பலர் . அய்யா பழ நெடுமாறன் அவர்கள் தன் உயிரை பணையம் வைத்து ஈழத்திற்கு சென்று அங்கு தமிழர்கள் படும் துயரத்தைபடமாக்கி அதை ராஜிவிடம் காண்பிக்க அனுமதி கேட்டார். கிடைக்கவில்லை
கட்ச தீவை தன் சுய நல அரசியலுக்கு விட்டு கொடுத்ததன் விழைவு பின்னாளில் பல மீனவர்கள் தங்கள் உயிரை காவுகொடுக்க வேண்டியதாயிற்று.தன்னால் எதையும் மீட்கமுடியாதென தெரிந்தும் சும்மா இருக்காது தமிழக மீனவர்கள் பேராசையால் எல்லைதாண்டி செல்வதால்தான் சிங்களர்சுடுகிறார்கள் என்றார்

அப்படி கூட்டு சேர எந்த வித காரணத்தை கூறினாலும் அது ஈழ கோரிக்கையை வலுவிழக்க உதவுமே தவிர கூர்மைபடுத்த ஒருபோதும் உதவாது

SLFP-men issue death threat to journalists in Mannaar

Two newspaper reporters in Mannaar have complained to Tamil Journalists Association in Vanni that ruling SLFP-men have issued death threats to them for their reporting on inciting violence at Koanthaip-piddi jetty on Friday. An armed Muslim gang incited a section of the Muslims after Jummah Prayer to join them in causing destruction to the boats of uprooted Tamil Catholics while the dispute between communities was being already addressed by the civil officials at divisional and district level.

Two journalists, S.R. Lambert and ASM Faszmi have complained that they have been issued death threats, Tamil media sources in Colombo said.

Meanwhile, informed sources in Mannaar told TamilNet that the men who have issued death threats are closely connected to SL minister of Industry & Commerce, Rishard Badurdeen,

The same gang that destroyed the boats on Friday, confronted one of the journalists, S.R. Lambert, while he was at the site of the incident witnessing the episode, the sources further said.

The other journalist, subjected to threat, is a Muslim journalist.

Two months ago, another Muslim journalist, 72-year-old MA Cader, who expressed solidarity with thousands of civilians who had gathered for a prayer expressing solidarity with Mannaar Bishop, was assaulted by a close-relative and an employee of Rsihard Badurdeen. The senior journalist was forcibly put into a pickup vehicle and attacked. The attack was reported after The SL Minister Badurdeen had issued veiled threats against Mannaar Bishop during a speech in the SL Parliament.

Eezham Tamil youth in Germany resolve to uphold Tamil sovereignty

Condemning the attempts by establishments to compel Eezham Tamils to accept the genocidal development model of Colombo in the Tamil homeland, second generation Eezham Tamil youth in Germany resolved “to raise awareness and educate Tamils and non-Tamils about the ongoing-internationally abetted-genocide of the Tamil nation” and to educate the IC about the legitimacy of the Tamil struggle for sovereignty at the ‘Tamil Eelam Sovereignty conference’ organized by TYO-Germany at Landau, on Sunday. Speaking to TamilNet, Vibisanan Rajasingam of the TYO said that it was important for the second generation youth in the diaspora to understand the need for a sovereign state of Tamil Eelam as the only solution to check the genocide of the Eelam Tamils, referring to the three types of sovereignty of the Eelam Tamils as mentioned in the Tamil sovereignty cognition declaration.

The conference was held on Sunday as a conclusion of discussions at a prior conference organized in Dusseldorf by the TYO-Germany and Country Council of Eezham Tamils in Germany, also involving the participation of Viraj Mendis and Fr. Koolen.

Speaking at the Tamil Eelam Sovereignty conference, Mr. Mendis spoke about the role played by geopolitical interests of international powers in the island in breaking the peace process between the GoSL and the LTTE, attributing the reason for the genocidal massacre at Mu’l’livaaykkaal to this ‘crimes against peace’.

Mr. Rajasingam spoke about the need for the youth in the diaspora and the homeland to get a firm grasp of the concepts of self-determination and the historical, earned and remedial aspects of Tamil sovereignty in order to get a better understanding of the struggle in the future.

The following resolutions, placed by Sinega Puvaneswaran from TYO-Germany, were passed unanimously at the conference.

Awareness of Eelam Tamil identity and the promotion of the same among the mainstream German polity and society is vital for our authentic cultural life in Germany as well as for the restoration of our sovereignty in the occupied homeland of the Eelam Tamils.
We welcome the Tamil Sovereignty Cognition as a principled approach to resolving the national question of Eelam Tamils in the island of Ceylon and recognize the declaration as a milestone following the Vaddukkoaddai Resolution of 1976, the Thimpu principles of 1985 and the reaffirmation of the Vaddukkoaddai Resolution amongst the Tamil Diaspora in 2009.
It is due to the global injustice that the genocidal war was made possible on the Eelam Tamils. The same global injustice prevails, politically privileging the perpetrators in the Sri Lankan establishment. Addressing this is a step to restore the lost power of balance.
The struggle of the Eelam Tamils, who are subjected in their homelands to a protracted, intended genocide carried out in various ways and kept under a system of colonization, militarization and Sinhalicisation, has been internationalized with over a million of them in the diaspora, and thus, a solution from a purely local approach is not only impossible but also unproductive.
We uncompromisingly uphold the legacy of the Tamil Eelam liberation struggle and its martyrs of over 60 years of resistance and shall endeavour to promote its political and cultural symbols, the Tamil Eelam national flag, national festivals, national culture to both local and global audiences and what we shall promote the ideals of the resistance and the freedom fighters in all spheres of Tamil life.
We reject the territorial integrity of the Sri Lankan state that occupies Tamil Eelam and we reject the imposition of the ‘Sri Lankan’ identity, politically and culturally on the Eelam Tamils
We will boycott any Tamil Diaspora organization that compromise the principles of Homeland, Nation and Self Determination and therefore lends legitimacy to the unitary state of Sri Lanka.
As a practical next step to the Tamil Sovereignty Cognition declaration, we call on a new generation of Tamil leaders from Tamil Nadu, Tamil Eelam, and the Diaspora to challenge the international community to revaluate its approach to self-determination for unrecognized nations and peoples and to build solidarity with other peoples living under occupation to challenge the present geo political order.
We condemn attempts by certain establishments and organizations to compel the Eelam Tamils to accept Colombo's development model in the Tamil homeland which operates as a military-corporate nexus and facilitates the systematic erasure of Eelam Tamil socio-economic and cultural life.
We resolve to raise awareness and educate Tamils and non-Tamils about the ongoing-internationally abetted- genocide of the Tamil nation. We will educate the international community about the legitimacy of the Tamil liberation struggle.

TNA should reject PC model, field independents in East elections: TNPF

The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) should demonstrate to the world the Tamil rejection of the Provincial Council model of the 13th Amendment by not participating in the Eastern Provincial Council (EPC) elections, but the TNA could field a front of independent candidates to meet the political challenge of the times. The candidate list already prepared could go as an independent list with a specific political message on the cause to the people, said Gajendrakumar Ponnampalam of the Tamil National Peoples Front (TNPF), presiding over a press conference in Jaffna on Saturday. The TNPF promised support to the TNA in any such move. In the meantime, former TNA parliamentarian and TELO leader M.K Sivajilingam urged the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress and the TNA to field candidates jointly. It is time for the East to have a Muslim chief minister, who is also elected by Tamils, he told TamilNet.

“There is no use of allowing the Sri Lankan government to decide the chief minister for the second time,” Sivajilingam said particularly urging the Muslim grassroots and their political leaders in the SLMC to forge a strategic alliance with the TNA in providing an opportunity for both the communities to sort out their internal issues and healing the wounds of the past.

Meanwhile, there are reports on contentions between the ITAK and the other parties within the TNA on the allocation of number of seats. TULF leader V. Anandasangaree held a meeting with the other parties in Colombo.

Former TNA parliamentarian Sri Kantha said the conflict prevailing within the alliance parties on allocation of seats has to be handled with care by Tamil grassroots to avoid splits.

Suresh Premachandran of the EPRLF and the spokesperson of the TNA told TamilNet that the non-ITAK parties were prepared to resolve the matter of seats amicably within the TNA.

In the meantime, the Sri Lankan government is making use of the elements working with the Sri Lankan military intelligence, such as the son of the late Sam Thambimuthu, informed sources said. Sam Thambimuthu was assassinated in 1990, allegedly by the LTTE.

Some former members of the EPRLF and PLOTE have also been brought down from exile by the SL government to compete as independent candidates against the parties that are already part of the TNA, creating confusion among the parties in the TNA.

In Ampaa'rai, Iniyaparathy, a notorious paramilitary operative with legal crime record under SL court system itself in recent times, but serves as SL president's district advisor, has been selected as a candidate by the Rajapaksa government, the sources in the East said.

The SL government dissolved the Eastern Provincial Council and announced elections two years in advance in the East. But, in the North, the electoral process has been delayed for three years and is expected in 2013.

There is a reason why Colombo that counts on its parallel manipulations of Muslim and Tamil collaborators wants to rush with the PC elections in the East early, and Colombo’s ultimate aim has to be thwarted, said grassroots civil activists and university students in the East, who have been negotiating among the political parties of the TNA to find an amicable equation.

Mr Sampanthan is aware of the trend, but lacks necessary statesmanship to arrive at an equation on the larger interests of the Tamil-speaking peoples in the East, said university students representatives in the East.

“TNPF understands that nominations for elections to Eastern Provincial Councils will be soon called for, and that the TNA is intending to participate in these elections. We were part of ACTC before the formation of the TNPF. Many of our members who supported the TNA withdrew support when TNA was reluctant to reject the 13thAmendment to the Sri Lanka constitution.

“We rejected TNA’s approach, which deviated from pre-May 2009 position on the 13th Amendment by compromising on fundamentals.

“From February 2010 we formed the TNPF, and for the last two years we have been trying to reinforce core principles of the Tamil cause by pointing out missteps by the TNA.

“The TNA appears to have dropped the core principles on Self-determination and Tamil nationhood.

“The Provincial Council elections will be a litmus test to verify the stand of the TNA on these core matters. If TNA still upholds the principles of right to self-determination and Tamil sovereignty, then clearly the TNA cannot willingly participate in the provincial elections that are based on the 13th Amendment.

“In the last Eastern Provincial elections, the TNA took a principled stand. It rejected participation in the elections.

“If the TNA has reversed its position and participates in the forthcoming elections, that would be confirming our accusations on the TNA relinquishing Tamils aspirations on right to self-determination and Tamil sovereignty.

“Even in this last moment we would want to make this open appeal.

“We again appeal openly that by participating in the provincial elections do not barter off Tamils fundamental rights, and the sacrifices made and losses sustained by thousands of Tamil freedom fighters during the last 60 years which have brought sharp focus of the international community on the Tamil struggle.

“Even while on the one side we would not like to see the ignominious fallout from TNA leaders participating in the provincial elections, on the other hand, we have not yet witnessed any open pronouncements or actions from the TNA leaders rejecting the Provincial elections.

“TNA argues that its participation in the elections is purely to prevent other pro-Government parties from obtaining seats in the Provincial Councils.

“If this is the true motivation for TNA’s position, we then say to TNA, please participate in the elections as independent candidates, and not under the TNA which was elected by Tamils to uphold their core fundamental mandate on sovereignty by the Tamil people.

“We reiterate that we will join with you and help you to be successful in this effort. We can draw on the many intellectuals, and those who are held in high esteem by our people to stand in the elections as independents, and thwart pro-Government elements from winning the elections.

“We should put forward the already prepared candidate list as the Independent List, and declare that TNA categorically rejects the provincial elections and explain to the Tamil people the reasons for using the Independent list.

“Further, Sri Lanka’s international propaganda has created an illusion that 13th Amendment can be used as a starting point to reach an acceptable political solution to Tamils.

“The current political climate in Sri Lanka also appears to support this concept. Sri Lanka Government wants to demonstrate to the international community that Tamils accept the 13th Amendment. In addition, the Machiavellian Government also has a compelling need to first engulf, and thereby constrict and make ineffective, the Tamil national aspirations within the framework of a Unitary State structure.

“The TNA has also argued that by capturing first the Eastern Provincial Council and then the Northern Provincial Council, it can bring about a merger of the two provinces. This is a blatant lie to fool the Tamil voters.

Even if TNA wins overwhelmingly in the two provinces, passing resolutions in the two provinces will not result in a legal merger of the provinces. The merger can only be brought about in the parliament, as clearly spelt out in the Sri Lankan Constitution.

“With 13 Tamil MPs out of a total of 225 MPs, working towards a merger in the Parliament is not possible.

“The TNPF started a people struggle against land-grab, and the TNA has performed admirable work in the matter in various areas.

“Holding power in the Provincial Councils may have been a solution to resolve the land-grab cases, if the constitution allowed such power to the local councils. But the truth is the 13th Amendment does not even provide these fundamental land powers to the Councils.

“We again plead with the TNA to officially reject the Provincial Councils.

“On the matter of Tamil detainees, Nilaruban’s killing and the sustaining of injuries of other detainees in Vavuniya have further exposed the predicament of Tamils in incarceration.

“The situation of Tamils detainees is dire. The detainees are under threat, lack protection and have been denied due process. In the meantime, the Government is claiming that the detainees are being rehabilitated and are being re-integrated into the social fabric.

“It is a treacherous act for any Tamil to accept that the Government’s rehabilitation efforts are being carried out effectively and successfully. Ex-combatants, even after being released, are living under close surveillance and constant monitoring, and are living in perpetual fear of being killed or arrested while living in an open prison.”

இலங்கை படையினருக்கு இங்கு பயிற்சியளிப்பதும், தமிழகத்தில் உள்ள ராணுவ பயிற்சி மையத்தில் நடக்கும் பயிற்சிகளை பார்வையிடுவதற்கு அனுமதி அளித்திருப்பதும், தமிழக மக்களின் உணர்வுகளை அவமதிப்பதாகும். மத்திய அரசின் இந்த பிடிவாதப் போக்கு, தமிழக மக்களிடம், பெரும் கொந்தளிப்பையும், ஏமாற்றத்தையும் ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது.எனவே, இந்தியாவில் எங்கும், இலங்கை வீரர்களுக்கு பயிற்சியளிக்கக் கூடாது என்று, பாதுகாப்பு அமைச்சகத்திற்கு அறிவுறுத்த வேண்டும். மேலும், பயிற்சி பெற வந்துள்ள அவர்களை, உடனடியாக அவர்கள் சொந்த நாட்டிற்கு திருப்பியனுப்ப வேண்டும்.இவ்வாறு கடிதத்தில் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
