A history was made today when for the first time in the inaugural meeting of high level Parliamentary Committee on Official
language, Thiru Tharun Vijay, MP made his request to Union Home Minister and
Chairman of Official Language Committee, that the coming birthday of Saint
Thiruvalluvar in January 2015, should be observed by the parliamentary Official Language Committee in Parliament House and the great heritage of Tamil and
other Indian languages be discussed and saluted.
To the
delight of all, Thiru Raj Nath Singh, Union Home Minister lauded and appreciated
the suggestion made by Shri Tharun Vijay and said that this is a very positive
suggestion and he directed the secretary of the Official Langauge Committee to
have it discussed for implementation.
A thriled and happy Tharun Vijay expressed his grateful thanks and said that this has further strenghthened his movement to have Thiruvalluvar birth day in 5oo schools and colleges of North India.
