Shanmugam promotes Singapore business with genocidal Sri Lanka

The Hikkaduwa (a tourist hub in the South) police arresting the Arabs on 19 May, on a tip from the Women and Child Protection Bureau (WCPB), have filed a case against them for buying an under-aged girl for a sum of Rs. 200,000, before raping her. According to the girl the Arabs had taken many other girls too.
The Arabs with a rented house in Colombo were regular ‘tourists’ to Sri Lanka, and they were also found with a Thai girl whom they had purchased in Bangkok.
Citing details provided by the WCPB on the case of a 17-year-old girl from a broken family in Chilaapam (Chilaw), Lakbima News on Sunday has also brought out the sex racket Singapore is involved in.
According to the girl rescued from the sex and slave trade in Singapore, there were 200 to 300 girls of her plight.
Underworld links and even politicians are involved in this burgeoning trade, the media report said.
According to the WCPB, if such rackets are not brought to a halt soon, Sri Lanka will gain an image as a place where sex workers can be readily hired, the report said.
The fundamental issue is global criminalisation of States, observers of alternative polity in the island said.
Sri Lanka, where genocide could be committed, abetted, ignored and continued with impunity jointly by all the States craving for business is a test case for the world. Shanmugam’s business interest is only a small reflection but the significance is in the modes operandi of the system using a Tamil to do it, the observers said.
