பல்வேறு தமிழ் அமைப்புகளின் எதிர்ப்புகளையும் தாண்டித் தமிழினத்தை கொன்றழித்த இலங்கைக்குச் சென்றுள்ள அப்துல் கலாம் மீண்டும் தமிழகத்திற்குள் கால் வைக்க வேண்டா, என அவருக்குத் தொலை வரி அனுப்புமாறு அனைத்துத் தமிழ் அமைப்புகளையும் மனித நேய அமை ப்புகளையும் தமிழின உணர்வு இயக்கங்களையும் கட்சிகளையும் தமிழ்க் காப்புக் கழகம் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறது.

தனித்தமிழ்இயக்கம் ஆண்டுதோறும் சுறவ(தை)த் திங்களில் தனித்தமிழ் விழாவை நடத்தி வருகிறது. இவ்வாண்டு 2043 சுறவம்(தை) 6ஆம் நாள் (20.1.2012) வெள்ளியன்று அவ்விழாவை முன்னாள் ஆணையர் தியாகராசன் தலைமையில் புதுவைத் தமிழ்க்கழக(சங்க)த்தில் நடத்தியது. கலைமாமணி மணிக்கண்ணன் தமிழ்த்தாய் வாழ்த்துப் பாட ஆசிரியை தமிழிசைவாணி வரவேற்றுப் பேசினார். தனித்தமிழ் இயக்கத்தின் 13 வகையான செயற்பாடுகளை அவர்தம் உரையில் எடுத்துக் கூறினார்.

தனித்தமிழ்த்தந்தை மறைமலையடிகளாரின் படத்தைப் பாவலர் இலக்கியன் திறந்து வைத்தார். அதைத்தொடர்ந்து நடைபெற்ற பாட்டரங்கில் வில்லியனூர் பழனி வடமொழியை நீக்கு என்னும் தலைப்பிலும் பாவலர்தமிழியக்கன் தனித்தமிழ்ப்பெயரிடு என்னும்தலைப்பிலும் பாவலர் மு.பாலசுப்பிரமணியன் பெயர்ப்பலகைத் தமிழாக்கு என்னும் தலைப்பிலும் பாவலர் அசோகா சுப்பிரமணியன் தனித்தமிழ் இதழ்படி என்னும் தலைப்பிலும் பாவலர் தமிழ் உலகன் ஆங்கிலத்தைப்போக்கு என்னும் தலைப்பிலும் பாடல்கள் வழங்கினர்.

உரையரங்கில் முனைவர் மறைமலை இலக்குவனார், இலக்குவனாரின் தனித்தமிழ்ப்பணி குறித்தும் முனைவர் அ.அறிவுநம்பி பாவாணரின் திருக்குறள் ஆய்வுகள் குறித்தும்

முனைவர் க.தமிழமல்லன் மறைமலையடிகளின் தனித்தமிழ் இயக்கம் என்பது குறித்தும் உரைகளை நிகழ்த்தினர். க.பாலசுப்பிரமணியன் நன்றி கூறினார்.

தனித்தமிழ் விழாவில் பின்வரும் தீர்மானங்கள் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டன.

1. புயலாலும் மழையாலும் தீங்கடைந்த புதுச்சேரியை விரைந்து சீரமைத்து உதவித்தொகை வழங்கிய புதுச்சேரி முதல்வர் ந.அரங்கசாமியைத் தனித்தமிழியக்கம் பாராட்டுகிறது.

2. முப்பது ஆண்டுகளுக்குமேல் வலியுறுத்தப்பட்டு வரும் தமிழ் வளர்ச்சித் துறை ஒன்றைப் புதுச்சேரி அரசு உடனே அமைக்க வேண்டும்.

3. கலை,பண்பாட்டுத்துறை அளித்து வரும் சிறந்த நூல்களுக்கான பரிசுகளையும் தமிழ்மாமணி கலைமாமணி விருதுகளையும் ஒவ்வோர் ஆண்டும் தவறாமல் திருவள்ளுவர் திருநாளில் விழா நடத்தி வழங்குமாறு தனித்தமிழ் இயக்கம் புதுச்சேரி முதல்வரைக் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறது. மூன்றாண்டுகளாக வழங்கப்படாத அவற்றை உடனடியாக வழங்க முதலமைச்சர் ஆவன செய்ய வேண்டும்.

4. காரைக்கால் புதுச்சேரிக் கிளை நூலகங்களுக்கு ஆண்டுதோறும் வழக்கம்போல் புதுச்சேரி எழுத்தாளர்களின் நூல்களில் 144 படிகள் வாங்கும் முறையைத் தவறாமல் செயற்படுத்த வேண்டும். வாங்கும் நூல்களின் எண்ணிக்கையைக் குறைப்பதும் வாங்காமல் தவிர்ப்பதும் மிகவும் வருந்தத் தக்கது.

5. வரும் ஆண்டுகளில் வாங்கும் நூல்களின் எண்ணிக்கையை அதிகப்படுத்த வேண்டும்.

நிரப்பப் படாத நூலகர் பணியிடங்களை நிரப்ப ஆவன செய்ய வேண்டும்.

6. புதுவை மொழியியல் பண்பாட்டு ஆராய்ச்சி நிறுவனம் இயல்பாக இயங்குவதற்கான இடத்தை உடனடியாக வழங்க வேண்டும். விரைவில் அதற்காகத் தனி வளாகம் கட்ட ஆவன செய்ய வேண்டும்.

7. புதுச்சேரிப் பாவேந்தர் பாரதிதாசன் அவர்களுக்கு வங்கக் கடலில் – குமரியில் நிறுவப்பட்டுள்ள திருவள்ளுவர் சிலையைப்போல், சிலைஅமைத்துப் படகுப் போக்குவரத்து நடத்திப் புதுச்சேரியை நாகரிகமான இலக்கியச் சுற்றுலா இடமாக்கி வருவாயைப் பெருக்க ஆவன செய்யுமாறு புதுச்சேரி அரசைத் தனித்தமிழ் இயக்கம் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறது.

Buddhist vihares grab Tamil lands for Sinhalicisation in Trincomalee

Hundreds of acres of lands are being alienated to Buddhist Vihares in Trincomalee district on the instruction of the Colombo government and at the request of the heads of such Vihares, civil sources in Trincomalee told TamilNet. After the war, the SL military-led administration in the district had allocated initially 2 acres per new Buddhist stupa in Tamil areas at Pulmoaddai, Ilaththik-ku'lam, Thiriyaay, Chempiyan-malai in Kuchchave'li DS division. Later, more lands are being allocated at the request of the heads of these Vihares, who aim Sinhalicisation of the Tamil areas. Informed sources said upto 400 acres have been alienated for this purpose.

Most of the lands allocated to the Buddhist Vihares belong to Tamil people who were uprooted from the area.

An entire division named Kadduk-ku'lam pattu, which was earlier under the administration of a Tamil administrative officer when it was a DRO division, was subjected to systematic demographic change. It has now become four separate divisions, Padaviya, Periya Vizhang-ku'lam (Sinhalicised to Morawewa), Gomarankadawala and Kuchchave'li.

Except Kuchchave'li, the other 3 divisions have been Sinhalicised.

Now, after the war, Kuchchave'li is also being systematically targeted for Sinhalicisation, the civil officials said.

Civil sources further alleged that the Sinhala occupiers are engaged in destroying Hindu temples now and recalled how the old Giri Kanda Vihare in Thiriyaay was protected by the Tamil Tigers when the area was under their control.

In the meantime, encroachment of the lands of Tamil people is taking place in large scale along Trincomalee-Kandy highway and Trincomalee-Anuradhapura highway, the sources further said.

TNA should use its Tamil national mandate: Bishop of Mannaar

The aim of the Tamil civil groups’ memorandum dated 13 December 2011 and addressed to the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) was in fact to strengthen the Tamil national polity and its democratically mandated representatives. It was not meant to weaken the TNA. There is a mandate given by the people to the TNA about continuing talks with the SL government and that the TNA in its course of action should stick to its mandate is the thrust of the memorandum, clarified the Bishop of Mannaar, Most Reverend Rayappu Joseph, in a press release issued on last Monday on behalf of the civil society signatories of the memorandum.

Welcoming the discourse evoked by the memorandum and thanking the comments pro and against, the Bishop expressed his deep regrets at those who politicise and personally attack the signatories of the civil society memorandum.

“On several occasions, and from time to time, most of us discussed the issues with the TNA parliamentarians and we have come out with the public memorandum after deep contemplation,” the press release said.

In what way reminding the TNA parliamentarians about the mandate of the people could harm unity, asked the press release, adding that empty rhetoric on unity is useless, unless the envisaged unity of Tamil political parties have a bearing at strengthening the Tamil national polity, the press release reminded.

“Genuine and people’s polity could come only through a continued political discourse with the concerned people. The aim of the civil society memorandum is to create a space for it.”

The signatories of the memorandum don’t have intentions of electoral politics, as it was not a manifesto for any election. The memorandum did not favour the TNA directly participating the Provincial Council elections, but it was clear on the point of not allowing anti-Tamil national elements capturing the Council, the press release further said.

According to the press release there was communication between the TNA and the civil society representatives and there is positive expectation about a meeting between the parties soon.

The Bishop of Mannaar was the leading signatory of the civil society memorandum.

The Bishop made a historic contribution in internationally putting on record with evidence, the figure of 146, 679 people who went unaccounted in the Vanni war alone.

ராமேசுவரம், ஜன. 22: நடுக்கடலில் மீன் பிடித்த ராமேசுவரம் மீனவர்கள் மீது இலங்கை கடற்படையினர் கல் வீசித் தாக்கியதில் மீனவர் ஒருவர் காயமடைந்தார். 4 பேர் சிறைப் பிடிக்கப்பட்டனர். ராமேசுவரத்தில் இருந்து ஜனவரி 21-ம் தேதி சுமார் 680 விசைப்படகுகள் மீன் பிடிக்கச் சென்றன. இந்தப் படகுகள் இந்திய, இலங்கை கடல் பகுதியில் மீன் பிடிப்பது வழக்கம். அதன்படி மீனவர்கள் மீன் பிடித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தனர். அப்போது 3 போர்க் கப்பல்களில் ரோந்து வந்த இலங்கை கடற்படையினர், மீனவர்களை மீன் பிடிக்க விடாமல் துப்பாக்கியைக் காட்டி மிரட்டியுள்ளனர். பின்னர் ராமேசுவரத்தைச் சேர்ந்த முத்துராமலிங்கம் என்பவருக்குச் சொந்தமான படகில் இருந்த மீனவர்கள் ஜெகதீஷ் (30), பாண்டி, செந்தூரான், வெற்றிவேல். ராமமூர்த்தி ஆகிய 5 பேர் மீது கல் வீசித் தாக்கியுள்ளனர். இதனால் மீனவர்கள் படகினுள் மறைந்து கொண்டனர். இருப்பினும் மீனவர் ஜெகதீஷ் வலது காலில் கல் பட்டு காயம் ஏற்பட்டது. மேலும் ராமேசுவரத்தைச் சேர்ந்த போஸ் என்பவருக்குச் சொந்தமான விசைப்படகில் மீன் பிடித்துக் கொண்டிருந்த சின்னையன், செல்வராஜ், தமிழ்செல்வன், மலைச்சாமி ஆகிய 4 மீனவர்களையும், அந்தப் படகையும் சிறைப்பிடித்த இலங்கை கடற்படையினர், அவர்களை தலைமன்னார் கடற்படை முகாமுக்குக் கொண்டு சென்றதாக ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை கரை திரும்பிய மீனவர்கள் தெரிவித்தனர். இந்த மீனவர்களை இலங்கை போலீஸôரிடம் ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை மாலை வரை இலங்கை கடற்படையினர் ஒப்படைக்காமல், அவர்களது பாதுகாப்பில் வைத்துள்ளதாகக் கூறப்படுகிறது. இந்நிலையில் இலங்கை கடற்படையினரின் கல்வீச்சில் காயமடைந்த மீனவர் ஜெகதீஷ், ராமேசுவரம் அரசு மருத்துவமனையில் புற நோயாளியாக சிகிச்சை பெற்றார். 4 மீனவர்கள் மாயம் : ராமேசுவரத்தைச் சேர்ந்த ராமு என்பவருக்குச் சொந்தமான விசைப்படகில் ராமு, ராஜமாணிக்கம், பாக்கியம் ஜோசப், பாண்டி, மாரியப்பன் ஆகிய 5 மீனவர்களும் ஜனவரி 21-ம் தேதி மீன் பிடிக்கச் சென்றனர். இவர்கள் மீன்பிடித்து விட்டு மறுநாள் (ஜனவரி 22) காலை கரை திரும்ப வேண்டும். ஆனால் மீனவர்கள் 5 பேரும் ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை மாலை வரை கரை திரும்பவில்லை. இதனையடுத்து காணாமல் போன மீனவர்களைத் தேடி, மீட்புக் குழு மீனவர்கள் மற்றொரு படகில் கடலுக்குச் சென்றுள்ளனர். மீனவர்கள் காணாமல் போனது குறித்து மீன்வளத் துறை இயக்குநருக்கு ராமேசுவரம் மீன்வளத் துறை உதவி இயக்குநர் வீரன் தகவல் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

Missing ITAK representative in Jaffna under ‘investigation’ in Colombo

The organizer of Ilangkai Thamizh Arasuk Kadchi (ITAK) in Jaffna city and a former representative of Jaffna University Student Union, Mr. Arnold, has been reported missing after being invited to Colombo by a person yet to be identified. Arnold has been allegedly abducted and subjected to investigations by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Sri Lankan Police in Colombo, informed circles in Jaffna said.

The family of Mr. Arnold has not been informed by the Sri Lankan Police. The last message the family had after losing contact with him was that he had been invited by authorities in Colombo.

The TNA circles remain tight-lipped on the alleged abduction and investigations on their representative in Jaffna.

Sri Lankan authorities have recently been harassing TNA members elected to the civic bodies in the peninsula.

Mr. Arnold has been employed in an insurance company, according to his friends who complain that the TNA or ITAK have failed raising the issue with the authorities in Colombo.

Recently, a TNA representative of Valikaamam North Pirathesa Chapai was subjected to attack at Cheanthaan-ku'lam by the Sri Lanka Navy.

The house of the representative of Valveddiththu'rai (VVT) Town Council was subjected to attack by unknown persons and the electricity link to the house was cut off.

The president of Kaarainakar Piratheasa Chapai was also attacked while he was on duty.

The young members elected to the civic bodies in Jaffna on TNA tickets complain that the TNA hierarchy engaged in “talks” with the Sri Lankan government fails to voice for the rights of their members.

Krishna visit patterns Indo-Sri Lanka deceit on Eezham Tamils

There was no enthusiasm or expectation in Jaffna on the recent visit by India's Foreign Minister S.M. Krishna, media circles said. Civil groups in Jaffna also reflected the same opinion. Just as the visits of MK Narayanan and Shiv Shankar Menon patterned the course of the genocidal war, the visits of the Indian dignitaries in the subsequent phase show a pattern in consolidating the structural genocide of the nation of Eezham Tamils in order to facilitate overlapping interests of India's imperialism and the militarized Sinhala state in the island. Rather than pointlessly expecting India's 'development' help or 'mediation' role, all shades of Tamil polity should firmly demand India to get out, if India's imperialism is incapable of finding any overlapping interest in conceding the right to self determination of the genocide-affected nation of Eezham Tamils, civil circles in Jaffna said.

Peoples of India should join in the demand if they care for their own rights in the future, civil society circles further said.

Apart from a showcased public event in front of the Jaffna Library on Wednesday, the visit of Mr. Krishna proceeded like similar visits of foreign diplomats whose focus is to call on Colombo's agents and the officials of the Sinhala military occupying the Tamil country.

The Bishop of Jaffna appeared in the public event, handing over an appeal to the visiting Indian minister urging India to play a mediation role in the talks between the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) and the Government of Sri Lanka (GoSL) while EPDP paramilitary leader and a minister in the Rajapaksa government, Douglas Devananda, who also appeared in the stage, wanted Mr. Krishna to advice the TNA to take part in Colombo's Parliamentary Select Committee farce.

The visit of SM Krishna was an ‘eyewash’, said senior politician and civil movement member Abimanasingham Manickasothy. The Eezham Tamil side should realize that India will not be doing anything contradicting the Colombo establishment, Mr. Manickasothy said adding that the TNA should stop giving false hopes to Tamils by their misleading statements. The visit of SM Krishna is to handle India's interests only, he pointed out.

Meanwhile, S. Kajendren of the Tamil National Peoples Front (TNPF) said India was engaged in checkmating China and was competing with China in working with the Sri Lankan state. While showcasing through its media operations that India was taking efforts to solve the national question of Eezham Tamils, the real negotiations it had with Colombo were about winning Colombo to its side by entering bilateral agreements favourable to both the establishments in New Delhi and Colombo, Mr. Kajendren said.

Meanwhile, civil society representatives in Jaffna said Krishna talking about the rotten 13th Amendment was totally useless while the Eezham Tamil struggle throughout the past decades were based on their Right to Self-Determination.

SM Krishna was attempting to get the TNA to appoint representatives who could take part in Colombo's Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) that is being set up by Mahinda Rajapaksa to drag on the process of finding a political solution to the decades old conflict.

TELO leader M.K. Sivajilingam alleged that the TNA had already agreed to appoint representatives to the PSC.

In the last two and a half years India has not even managed to complete 1000 units of the 50,000 houses it promised to the uprooted Tamils.

Mr. SM Krishna was in Ki'linochchi “declaring open” a building by only fixing the roof and doing some painting to an old structure, civil sources said. In Jaffna Mr. Krishna managed to open just 140 houses in Ariyaalai where he had laid the foundation stone during his last visit on 27 November 2010, more than an year ago.

There is no difference between what Colombo's president, his siblings and son are doing in Vanni under the banner of “development” and what is being done by India under the banner of assisting Tamils in Vanni, according to a civic body member in Vanni.

K. Sooriyakumaran, one of the representatives of the fisheries society in Vadamaraadchi questioned how could one expect the Indian government, which has not been able to solve the controversial problem of intruding fishermen destroying the fishing nets and the fisheries resources by bottom-trawling so far, is able to solve the national question of Eezham Tamils.

There has been no improvement in the situation of the livelihood of the resettled Eezham Tamil fishermen who are severely affected by the intruding Indian and Sinhalese fishermen.
