Turkish ambassador to Colombo welcomes ‘Sri Lanka model’ to deal with ‘terrorism’

Despite the currently ongoing peace process between the PKK and the Turkey government, the Turkish ambassador to Sri Lanka, Iskender Okyay has welcomed the Sri Lanka model of counterinsurgency (COIN) to deal with ‘terrorism’, stating that “Sri Lanka's experience in fighting against terrorism could be a good example for Turkey” and adding that “the relationship between the countries could be deepened over the terrorism issue,” the Turkish nationalist news agency Today’s Zaman reported on Wednesday. Commenting on this, Kurdish activists in Europe told TamilNet that the Turkish diplomat’s endorsement of Sri Lanka’s genocidal model of COIN at a time when the Kurdish political movement was having faith in a peaceful settlement shows the insincerity of Turkey towards the peace process, besides being an tacit approval of the genocide of the Eezham Tamil nation.

Yuksel from Kurdish Federation, UK said that the comments of the diplomat in the article show the wish of the Turkish state to suppress the Kurds. “They have that dream but their dream will never come true. This article shows that International Community has not done enough for Tamils and terrorist states are using the example to crush movements who fighting for freedom,” he told TamilNet.

Turkey’s political leaders and analysts have advocated the Sri Lankan model of COIN to deal with the PKK led Kurdish struggle several times after May 2009.

In an interview to the Today’s Zaman on Wednesday, Mr. Okyay, “the first ever Turkish ambassador to Sri Lanka”, seemed eager to promote Turkey-Sri Lanka ties, especially in ‘combating terrorism’.

“Sri Lanka has been enjoying peace for four years now. Terrorism should be ended one way or another. In Turkey we are not fighting against an ethnic group but against a terrorist group, the same way Sri Lanka was,” Okyay was cited as saying.

Mr. Okyay further said that the Sri Lankan President would be visiting Turkey in the coming months.

The Turkish diplomat seemed to mirroring the views expressed by his Sri Lankan counterpart in Turkey earlier.

In June 2012, Today’s Zaman had published an interview with Sri Lanka’s ambassador to Turkey, Bharati Davina Wijeratne, where the Sri Lankan diplomat, while lauding Turkey’s consistent support to Sri Lanka, had also opined that Turkey had a to learn “from the Sri Lankan experience in eliminating terrorists”.

“Sri Lanka's army was similar to the army Mustafa Kemal Atatürk [the founder of the Republic of Turkey] established in Turkey. In Anıtkabir, the mausoleum of Atatürk, I saw the pictures of the Turkish soldiers offering water to their enemies during the war. Our soldiers were doing the same thing three years ago. The Sri Lankan government operated a humanitarian campaign while combating terrorism,” Today’s Zaman quoted her.

Canada extradites citizens to stand "terrorism" trial in Brooklyn

Two naturalized Canadian citizens of Eezham Tamil origin, Suresh Sriskandarajah and Piratheepan Nadarajah, plead not guilty to charges on providing material assistance to the now defunct Liberation Tigers when both were arraigned Thursday last week in the District Court of the Eastern District of New York (EDNY), after a six year battle in Canada fighting extradition, legal sources in New York said. The defendants lost a constitutional challenge in the Canadian Supreme Court when the Court ruled that Canada’s terrorism laws did not infringe on the defendants constitutional rights and that the Canadian Justice Minister's order to surrender the defendants to the United States was legal.

According to New York Times, Loretta E. Lynch, the United States attorney in Brooklyn, said the defendants “were part of the cycle of sophisticated arms and large sums of money that fueled” the Tamil Tigers, an organization that authorities said had used suicide bombings and political assassinations.

The paper mentioned that Nadarajah engaged in negotiations in 2006 with an undercover FBI agent to buy missiles for the Tigers, and that Sriskandarajah was "researching and acquiring" warship design software for the Tigers.

While this is the last remaining case in the U.S.'s decade long pursuit of LTTE activists, legal sources in New York noted that the EDNY court has been singularly active in demonstrating its deeper understanding of the context of the "terrorism" as applied to Sri Lanka. EDNY Judges have recent decisions have given lighter sentences [Kandasamy Karunakaran and Ramanan Mylvaganam ~4 years of time served] unless the crimes triggered harsher sentences mandated by the sentencing guidelines. Legal sources point out the following Judge Dreary's statements during the sentencing in a previous case as evidence of the Court's stand on Sri Lanka:

"...we have to pull back that sort of emblazoned banner of terrorism and look at the case specifically and the defendant particularly and that's where the decision-making process gets so difficult. You know, part of preparing I reread John Anderson's article in the New Yorker back over a year ago, and a thought that occurred to me is it is so unfortunate that apparently the international community seems either unwilling or incapable of objective fact finding on the issue applied to the Tamils and what has happened in Sri Lanka.

"...it's clear from all accounts that this civil war involved brutalities on both sides. Now that we have been so, in a relative sense, intimately involved in this struggle, it really does cry out for some independent reliable voice to tell the full story. It is also somewhat disappointing, apparently. I don't mean to get into the politics of this. This Colombo government doesn't seem willing to give ground in terms of the Tamil community, and although the war is over, the conflict continues. That's disappointing. I don't think it is humanitarians versus terrorists.

Joshua L. Dratel, the lawyer representing Sriskandarajah said [NYT]: “He’s gone through this process for six years; this is another chapter that we’ll have to overcome.”

Sriskandarajah has a record of excellence in his academic work and has completed his MBA degree with leadership awards, his college and high school records show. He was studying law at the University of Ottawa when he was extradited.

Supreme Court of Canada had earlier held that "extradition does not violate the right of citizens to remain in Canada under s. 6(1) of the Charter, even when the foreign state’s claim of jurisdiction is weak or when prosecution in Canada is feasible."

The court added that the extradition "fulfills the needs of an effective criminal justice system. The decision to extradite is a complex matter, involving numerous factual, geopolitical, diplomatic and financial considerations. The Minister of Justice has superior expertise in this regard, and his discretion is not conclusively bound by any of the Cotroni factors. The ability of Canada to prosecute the offences remains but one factor in the inquiry; nor is the strength of the foreign jurisdiction’s claim to prosecute always determinative."

An Australian Court, in a precedent setting decision in September last year, ruled that the similar offenses charged by the U.S. were "political offenses," and barred the Australian Attorney General from agreeing to surrender the defendant to the US.

SL military admits ‘terrorism’ detention of Dr Sivashankar

Sri Lankan military spokesman in Colombo, Brigadier Ruwan Vanigasooriya, on Tuesday admitted to journalists in the South that the SL military was detaining Medical Officer Ratnasingham Sivashankar. According to the spokesman of the occupying SL military, the Tamil doctor has been detained because he had "trespassed" into the military base where Tamil women were being held for military training. The doctor had entered the camp in connection with a recently recruited female trainee relative, Vanigasooriya claimed, and added that the doctor had showed ‘false reasons’ and had tried to make contact with a recently ‘recruited’ Tamil females and tried to discourage them from undergoing training. He tried to question the SL military officials on the recruitment of Tamil females and the SL military has arrested him on suspicion, he said.

The doctor is now detained at the Maangku'lam military camp and is being investigated by the Sri Lankan ‘Terrorist’ Investigation Department (TID), the SL military spokesman further said.

Vanigasooriya was also referring to the doctor as authoring articles in Uthayan newspaper published from Jaffna.

The doctor, now attached to the Blood Bank of the Anuradhapura hospital, was formerly working at the Jaffna hospital and was in charge of the Blood Bank there.

Informed sources in Ki'linochchi said that Doctor Sivashankar had gone to the Kokkaavil camp to talk to the SL military officers to persuade them to free one of the girls who had been forcefully taken away by the military from her house after sitting for GCE O/L exams. The girl had refused to report back to the military training at Kokkaavil SL military base where she was one of around hundred Tamil women who had been coerced into joining the SL military for ‘civil posts’ and later conscripted for military service.

The girls were held at Paarathipuram SL military base where at least 21 of them became mentally affected after being harassed by the occupying SL military.

After their conscription, their parents were not able to contact their daughters, and they were in shock to learn that the victims were admitted to the hospital on 12 December 2012. Official explanation from the SL military was that 13 females were admitted in a “possessed” state.

Doctor Sivashankar has acted with independence and impartiality during his service at Jaffna hospital, medical sources at the hospital said adding that he had specialized in the field of psychology.

Sivashankar was in charge of the Blood Bank for several years at the hospital till he was transferred to Anuradhapura in 2010. The SL governor in North was behind the transfer.

When EPRLF-Varathar faction's Jaffna leader Subaththiran was assassinated, allegedly by the Tigers in June 2003, Sivashankar had published an obituary in the form of a paid advertisement when the papers refused to publish an obituary, informed media sources in Jaffna said confirming his independent personality.

Genocidal Sri Lanka ‘examines’ Tamil students on ‘terrorism’

A question paper set for High School students of Jaffna by Sri Lanka’s education department not only intimidates Tamil and Muslim children to denounce their conscience, but also sends a warning to the free peoples all over the world on the dangers of allowing decadent establishments to set international paradigms that engineer against humanity’s freedom of independent thought. A ‘multiple choice’ question, found in the GCE Advanced Level (Grade 13) preparatory examination paper set by the field unit of Sri Lanka’s Jaffna education department in March 2012 goes as follows: Who among the following is inappropriate to the word terrorism: 1. Bin Laden, 2. Pirapaharan, 3. Saddam Hussein, 4. Colonel Gaddafi, 5. Mao Zedong

GCE Advanced Level is the highest as well as university entrance class in the schools of the island.

Field units of district education departments conduct district level preparatory exams before the public exams. These exams are attended by thousands of students from hundreds of schools.

The field unit of the occupying Sri Lanka’s Jaffna Education Department functions at Tho’ndaimaanaa’ru.

Occupying Sri Lanka’s colonial governor for the north, Maj. Gen. G. A. Chandrasri is currently on sick leave. But until last month he was personally controlling every small matter related to schools in the north, to see that the education of Tamil children is engineered to suit the genocidal agenda of the state.

New York Judge frees another Tamil man accused of aiding terrorism

Ramanan Mylvaganam, 35, accused by the U.S. prosecutors of trying to buy night vision goggles and assisting in the purchase of computer equipment, electronic components and communications equipment for the Liberation Tigers, was allowed to go free after Eastern District of New York Judge Drearie sentenced Ramanan to time served, rejecting the request by the Prosecutors who sought a 15-year sentence. Only on Friday the same judge let another Tamil man who the FBI and the prosecutors labelled the "leader" for the Tigers in the U.S. go free after time served.

While the prosecutors argued that Ramanan had committed "a gravely serious offense," the defense counsel said the crime was an "isolated transgression."

“We’re so happy, we just can’t believe it. We didn’t know what was going to happen and this is just great news," Ramanan's brother, Ragavan Kathiravetpillai said after the Judge's decision was announced.

On the 8th February 2012, Ramanan pleaded guilty to a single count of conspiracy to provide material support to Liberation Tigers.

Ramanan was arrested on Aug. 22, 2006 by the RCMP at his Derry Rd. E. apartment. He was picked up at the request of American authorities. He was supposed to start a job at Microsoft's international headquarters in Redmond, Washington in late 2006, but those plans were put on hold after he was arrested. At the time of the arrest Ramanan was a computer engineering student at University of Waterloo. One month later, he was granted bail and returned to university, where he continued to pursue a master's degree.

A spokesperson for Tamil Against Genocide [TAG], a US-based group that seeks legal remedies to victims of Sri Lanka's war said, "There is a clear shift in the way the US Courts are viewing material support charges to the Liberation Tigers. The judge found the prosecution's attempt to describe the Canadian student as part of an international network supplying arms to the Tigers as clearly unpersuasive. If statute of limitation permits, one can expect appeals based on 28 USC § 2255 attack from others who have previously received harsher sentences on similar charges," TAG spokesperson said.

Two other Canadians — Thiruthanikan Thanigasalam and Sahilal Sabaratnam — arrested along with Ramanan as part of a joint Federal Bureau of Investigation/Royal Canadian Mounted Police probe in 2006, were sentenced in January 2010 to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty of material support.

A third Canadian, Satha Sarachandran, 30, was sentenced to 26 years in prison, while Nadarasa Yogarasa, an Eezham Tamil living in the U.S., got 14 years.

According to a story in the National Post, diaspora activists said, the Government of Sri Lanka, by promising to help the three convicted Canadians [by reducing the sentence through diplomatic channels], has tried to exploit the misery "to undermine Tamil militancy in the diaspora and bolster Colombo’s image as it faces accusations of war crimes."

The families "have met with senior Sri Lankan officials in recent months to make their case for leniency. They said the country’s powerful defence secretary, Gotabaya Rajapaksa, had assured them Sri Lanka was open to their proposals," National Post said in a story dated October 7, 2011.

But, TAG spokesperson commented, "absent a Presidential pardon, there is hardly any extra-legal mechanism available to intervene in the U.S. judicial process to obtain leniency after conviction. We hope that the families use all legal recourse available to appeal the conviction, and not be misled by the promises of Colombo which is as helpless as any other lay person to influence the judiciary by extra-legal means," TAG said on the unfortunate predicament of those serving long jail sentences.

Two other Canadians, Suresh Sriskandarajah, who is accused of conspiring with Ramanan to procure equipment for the Tamil rebels, and Pratheepan Nadarajah, who is sought in a related case, have appealed their extradition orders to the Supreme Court of Canada.

"The recent decisions by Judge Drearie will have a bearing on the evolving pre-trial attorney engagements for Suresh Sriskandarajah and Pratheepan. While the fact patterns and charges for each case is different, the Prosecutors will hesitate to fight for extradition if there are plausible grounds to expect that Judge Drearie will likely rule in a similar manner to the recent cases," TAG spokesperson commented.

இந்தியாவில் எந்த மாநிலத்திலும் இவ்வாறு பொடா சட்டத்தை அரசியல் நோக்கங்களுக்காகத் தவறாகப் பயன்படுத்தியவர்கள் மீது எத்தகைய நடவடிக்கையும் எடுக்கப்படவில்லையே ஏன்?ஒரு நாள் கூட சிறை சென்றறியாத சிதம்பரத்துக்குச் சிறைவாசக் கொடுமை என்ன என்பது புரியாது. செய்யாத குற்றத்துக்காகப் பல மாதங்கள் சிறையில் வாடியவர்களின் குடும்பத்தினர் எத்தகைய மனத்துன்பத்துக்கும் இழப்புகளுக்கும் ஆளாகியிருப்பார்கள் என்பதை சிதம்பரம் போன்றவர்களால் புரிந்து கொள்ளவே முடியாது.வெள்ளையரின் போலீஸ் தடியடிக்கு தனது வயது முதிர்ந்த தாயான சொரூபராணி அம்மையார் ஆளானதை எண்ணி தான் துடித்துப் போனது குறித்து ஜவாஹர்லால் நேரு எழுதியிருப்பதையும், தனது தந்தையும், அத்தைமார்களும் சிறை சென்றபோது, சிறுமியான தான் தனித்து நின்று தவித்தது குறித்து இந்திரா காந்தி எழுதியிருப்பதையும் ப. சிதம்பரம் போன்றோர் படித்தால்தான் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்களின் வேதனையை ஒருசிறிதளவாவது புரிந்து கொள்ள முடியும்.1912-ம் ஆண்டில் வெள்ளையர் ஆட்சியின் போது சுதந்திரப் போராட்டத்தை நசுக்குவதற்காக "ரௌலட் சட்டம்' என்ற கொடிய சட்டம் கொண்டு வரப்பட்டது. அதற்குக் கண்டனம் தெரிவிக்கும் வகையில் ஜாலியன் வாலாபாக்கில் கூடிய கூட்டத்தின் மீது வெள்ளை ராணுவம் கண்மூடித்தனமாகச் சுட்டது.நூற்றுக்கணக்கானவர்கள் உயிரிழந்தார்கள். ஜாலியன் வாலாபாக் படுகொலை என்னும் இந்த நிகழ்ச்சி தான் சுதந்திரப் போராட்டத்தை உத்வேகப்படுத்தியது. இந்த "ரௌலட் சட்ட'த்துக்கு எதிராகத்தான் காந்தியடிகள் தனது முதல் போராட்டத்தைத் தொடங்கினார். ஆனால் சுதந்திர இந்தியாவில் ரௌலட் சட்டத்தை மிஞ்சும் பல சட்டங்கள் இருந்தன. இன்னும் நடைமுறையில் இருக்கின்றன.பல கொடிய சட்டங்கள் இருந்தும்கூட, பயங்கரவாதத்தை ஒழிக்க முடியாதது ஏன் என்பதைச் சிந்தித்துப் பார்க்க வேண்டும். மக்களின் எதிர்ப்புக்கிணங்க பொடா சட்டம் திரும்பப் பெறப்பட்டபோதிலும் கூட அச்சட்டத்திலிருந்த பல கொடுமையான பிரிவுகளை, சிறு திருத்தங்களுடன் உள்ளடக்கி சட்ட விரோத நடவடிக்கைகள் தடுப்புத் திருத்த அவசரச் சட்டம் பிறப்பிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. அப்பட்டமான மனித உரிமை பறிப்புச் சட்டம் இது. சட்டத்தைத் தவறாகப் பயன்படுத்தி அரசியல் எதிரிகளைப் பழிவாங்குவதற்கு அல்லது அவர்களை மிரட்டி அடக்கி வைப்பதற்குப் பதவி வெறிகொண்ட அரசியல்வாதிகளுக்கும், காவல்துறைக்கும் இந்தச் சட்டம் மிகமிக உதவும்.ஐ.பி., ரா, சி.பி.ஐ. போன்ற மத்திய உளவு நிறுவனங்கள் உள்ளன. ஆனால் இவை போதாது என்று தேசிய புலனாய்வு அமைப்பு ஒன்றை ப. சிதம்பரம் அமைத்துள்ளார். அதற்கு அளவு கடந்த அதிகாரங்கள் அளிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. உச்ச நீதிமன்றத் தலைமை நீதிபதி கே.ஜி. பாலகிருஷ்ணன், 13-12-2008 அன்று தில்லியில் நடைபெற்ற சர்வதேச நீதிபதிகள் மாநாட்டில் பேசும்போது பின்வருமாறு குறிப்பிட்டார்:பயங்கரவாதத் தாக்குதல்களைப் பயன்படுத்தி தனி நபர்களின் உரிமைகளையும், சுதந்திரத்தையும் பறிப்பதை நியாயப்படுத்த முயற்சி நடைபெறுகிறது. பயங்கரவாத வளர்ச்சியைத் தடுப்பதற்குப் பதில் சந்தேகப்பட்டவர்களைக் காலவரம்பின்றி சிறையிலடைத்தலும், விசாரணை என்ற பெயரால் சித்திரவதை செய்தலும், நியாயமான விசாரணை நடப்பதை மறுப்பதும் நடைபெறுகின்றன.பயங்கரவாத தாக்குதல்களின் பின்விளைவாக மக்கள் மீது கட்டுப்பாடுகளும், கண்காணிப்புகளும் விதிக்கப்படுகின்றன. மக்களின் குடியேற்றத்துக்கு நியாயமற்ற கட்டுப்பாடுகள் ஏற்படுத்தப்படுகின்றன. பயங்கரவாதத்தைக் கட்டுப்படுத்த முனையும்விசாரணை அமைப்புகளின் அதிகாரத்தைக் கட்டுப்படுத்தும் தேவையற்ற நடவடிக்கைகளை நீதித்துறை மேற்கொள்கிறது என்ற குற்றச்சாட்டும் கூறப்படுகிறது. இவ்வாறு கூறுபவர்கள்நமது குற்றவியல் மற்றும் சாட்சியம் அளிக்கும் சட்டங்களில் திருத்தங்கள் கொண்டு வரவேண்டும் என்று கூறுகிறார்கள். யாரையும் நீண்ட காலத்துக்கு முன்னெச்சரிக்கை நடவடிக்கையாக சிறை வைக்க வேண்டும் என்றும், காவல் துறை அதிகாரிகள் முன்னிலையில் அளிக்கப்படும் ஒப்புதல் வாக்குமூலங்களை நீதிமன்றங்கள் ஏற்கவேண்டும் என்றும் இவர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள்.இது குறித்து நாடாளுமன்றந்தான் முடிவெடுக்க வேண்டும். ஆனாலும், இந்திய அரசியலமைப்புச் சட்டத்தின் 21-வது பிரிவு வழங்கியிருக்கும் தனிநபர் சுதந்திரத்தைப் பறிக்கும் எந்த நடவடிக்கையிலும் யாரும் ஈடுபடக்கூடாது''. உச்ச நீதிமன்றத் தலைமை நீதிபதி கூறியிருக்கும் இந்தக் கருத்துக்கு மாறாக உள்துறை அமைச்சர் ஒரு சட்டத்தைக் கொண்டு வந்திருக்கிறார். அதற்கு மக்கள் ஆதரவு தரவேண்டும் என்று எதிர்பார்க்கிறார்.பிரதமர் பதவிக்கு அடுத்த நிலையில் உள்ள மிகமுக்கியமான பதவி உள்துறை அமைச்சர் பதவி ஆகும். இந்தியா சுதந்திரம் பெற்றபோது பிரதமராக ஜவாஹர்லால்நேருவும் உள்துறை அமைச்சராக வல்லபாய் படேலும் பொறுப்பேற்றனர். அவருக்குப் பின்னர் ராஜாஜி, பண்டித கோவிந்த வல்லப பந்த் போன்ற மிக மூத்த தலைவர்கள் உள்துறை அமைச்சர் பொறுப்பைத் திறம்பட வகித்தனர். இத்தகைய அறிவாற்றல் மிக்க தலைவர்கள் அமர்ந்த நாற்காலியில் ப. சிதம்பரம் அமர்ந்திருக்கிறார். அந்தத் தலைவர்கள் அமர்ந்த நாற்காலியில் அமர்ந்திருப்பதனாலேயே அந்தத் தலைவர்களுக்குத் தான் சமமாகிவிட மாட்டோம் என்ற உணர்வு ப. சிதம்பரத்துக்கு எப்போதும் இருக்க வேண்டும். அந்தத் தலைவர்கள் கடைப்பிடித்த நிதானம், நிர்வாகத்திறமை, மக்களை மதிக்கும் தன்மை ஆகிய நற்பண்புகளைக் கடைப்பிடிக்க வேண்டும். செஞ்சிக் கோட்டை ஏறியவரெல்லாம் தேசிங்கு ராசனாகிவிட முடியாது.

நல்ல கருத்துகளைத் தெரிவித்துள்ளார். ஆனால்,இவை யாவும் செவிடன் காதில் ஊதிய சங்கே. இந்தியாவில் அரச பயங்கரவாதம் நிறுத்தப்படுவதுடன் இலங்கையில் நடைபெறும் அரச பயங்கரவாதத்திற்குத் துணை நிற்கவும் கூடாது. ஆனால் தற்போதைய ஆட்சி நீடிக்கும் வரை இதற்கான வாய்ப்பே கிடையாது. வேறொரு ஆட்சி வந்தாலும் அதிகாரிகளின் ஆளுமை நிலைக்கும் வரை எல்லாம் பகல் கனவே. என ஆட்சிகளும் மாற வேண்டும். அரச வன்முறைகளில் ஈடுபடும் அதிகாரிகளும் தூக்கி எறியப்பட வேண்டும்.

வாஷிங்டன், டிச.29: உலகின் எந்தப் பகுதியில் அல்-காய்தா தீவிரவாதிகள் இருந்தாலும் அவர்களை அழித்தே தீருவேன் என்று அமெரிக்க அதிபர் பராக் ஒபாமா கூறினார். அமெரிக்காவுக்கு எதிராக உலகின் எந்தப் பகுதியிலிருந்துஅவர்கள் திட்டம் போட்டு அதைச் செயல்படுத்தினாலும் அதை உறுதியுடன் முறியடிப்போம் என்றும் அவர் கூறினார். அமெரிக்க விமானத்தில் நடுவானில் வெடிகுண்டு வைத்து தகர்க்க அல்-காய்தா அமைப்பைச் சேர்ந்த நைஜீரிய இளைஞர் முயற்சி மேற்கொண்டார். கிறிஸ்துமஸ் தினத்தன்று மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்ட இந்த நடவடிக்கை முறியடிக்கப்பட்டது. இதன்மூலம் 270 பயணிகளுடன் விமானம் பத்திரமாக தரையிறங்கியது. தற்போது அந்த இளைஞரிடம் அமெரிக்க புலனாய்வு அமைப்பு (எப்பிஐ) விசாரணை நடத்தி வருகிறது. இந்நிலையில் ஓய்வுக்காக ஹவாய் தீவில் உள்ள பராக் ஒபாமா, இச்சம்பவம் குறித்து முதல் முறையாக தொலைக்காட்சி மூலம் நாட்டு மக்களிடம் உரையாற்றினார். அப்போது இத்தகவலைத் தெரிவித்தார். அவர் மேலும் பேசியது: அமெரிக்காவுக்கு எதிராக மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்ட இந்த தீவிரவாத நடவடிக்கை குறித்து விசாரணை நடத்தப்பட்டு வருகிறது. இந்த சம்பவத்தில் தொடர்புடையவர்கள் எவராக இருப்பினும் அவர்களைக் கண்டுபிடித்து தண்டிக்கும் வரை ஓயமாட்டோம். சதிச் செயலில் ஒரு வேளை அந்த தீவிரவாதி வெற்றி பெற்றிருந்தால், விமானத்தைத் தகர்க்கும் முயற்சி ஈடேறியிருந்தால், விமானப் பணியாளர்கள் உள்பட 300 பேர் உயிரிழந்திருப்பர். கிறிஸ்துமஸ் மற்றும் புத்தாண்டு விழாவை தங்கள் குடும்பத்தினருடன் கொண்டாடுவதற்காக வந்த அவர்களது நிலைமை என்னவாகியிருக்கும் என்று நினைத்துப் பார்க்கவே அச்சமாக இருக்கிறது. இந்த தீவிரவாத செயலை மேற்கொண்ட உமர் ஃபரூக் அப்துல் முத்தலப் (23) என்ற இளைஞர் தற்போது சிறையில் அடைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார். எப்பிஐ அதிகாரிகள் தொடர்ந்து விசாரணை நடத்தி வருகின்றனர். அமெரிக்காவை அச்சுறுத்தும் எந்த ஒரு அமைப்பையும், தகர்த்தெறிய அனைத்து நடவடிக்கைகளையும் அமெரிக்கா தொடர்ந்து மேற்கொள்ளும். அத்தகைய தீவிரவாதிகள் ஆப்கானிஸ்தான், பாகிஸ்தான், சோமாலியா, யேமன் உள்ளிட்ட நாடுகளிலோ அல்லது உலகின் எந்தப் பகுதியில் இருந்தாலும் அவர்களை விடமாட்டோம். அமெரிக்கா மீது தாக்குதல் நடத்த நினைக்கும் குழுக்களுக்கு நெருக்குதல் அளிக்குமாறு தேசிய பாதுகாப்பு அமைப்புக்கு அறிவுறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. அப்பாவி பொது மக்கள், பெண்கள் மற்றும் குழந்தைகளின் உயிருக்கு அச்சுறுத்தலாக இருக்கும் குழுவினரை அமெரிக்கா ஒருபோதும் விட்டு வைக்காது. அமெரிக்கா வெறுமனே தனது ராணுவ பலத்தை மட்டும் அதிகரித்துச் செல்வதாக இந்தக் குழுக்கள் நினைத்துக் கொண்டிருக்கக் கூடாது. டிசம்பர் 25-ம் தேதி விமானத்தில் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்ட சம்பவத்தின் மூலம் எதிர்காலத்தில் எடுக்க வேண்டிய முன்னெச்சரிக்கை நடவடிக்கைகள் குறித்து மேலும் ஆராயப்பட்டுள்ளது. முதல் கட்டமாக மிகவும் பரிச்சயமான தீவிரவாதிகளைக் கண்டறிந்து அவர்கள் அமெரிக்காவில் நுழைவதற்குத் தடை விதிப்பது என முடிவு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. விமானத்தைத் தகர்க்கும் முயற்சியில் ஈடுபட்ட நைஜீரிய இளைஞர் கூட, இத்தகைய பட்டியலில் இடம்பெற்றவர்தான். ஆனால் இவரை பயணம் செய்ய அனுமதித்தது தவறு. எனவே இது தொடர்பான அனைத்து பாதுகாப்பு அம்சங்களையும் இனி தீவிரமாக ஆராயுமாறு பாதுகாப்பு அதிகாரிகளுக்கு அறிவுறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதன்மூலம் இனிவரும் நாள்களில் பயணிகள் பட்டியலில் தீவிரவாதிகள் இடம்பெறுவது தவிர்க்கப்படும். அடுத்த கட்டமாக விமான பயணிகளை சோதனையிடுவதில் அனைத்து பாதுகாப்பு அம்சங்களையும் கடைப்பிடிக்குமாறு அறிவுறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதற்காக அனைத்து நவீன கருவிகளையும் பயன்படுத்துமாறு வலியுறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. விமானத்திற்குள் பயணி ஒருவர் அதி பயங்கரமான வெடிப்பொருளைக் கொண்டு வந்தது குறித்தும் ஆராய்ந்து , எதிர்காலத்தில் இதுபோன்ற சம்பவங்கள் நிகழாமல் தடுக்க நடவடிக்கை எடுக்குமாறு வலியுறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது. அமெரிக்க மக்களைப் பாதுகாக்க அனைத்து நடவடிக்கைகளையும் அரசு நிச்சயம் எடுக்கும். இதற்காக எத்தகைய பலத்தையும் பிரயோகிக்கும். அமெரிக்க மக்கள் இனி விழிப்புடன் செயலாற்றி இதுபோன்ற தீவிரவாதிகளை தனிப்படுத்த வேண்டும். நாட்டை பாதுகாக்க அனைத்து நடவடிக்கைகளையும் எடுத்தாக வேண்டிய கட்டாயம் உள்ளது. ஒற்றுமையுடன் இருந்து நம்பிக்கையாக செயல்பட்டு இத்தகைய சக்திகளை ஒடுக்க வேண்டும் என்று கேட்டுக் கொண்டுள்ளார் ஒபாமா. சீருடை அணிந்த அமெரிக்க வீரர்களும் வீராங்கனைகளும் அமெரிக்க மக்களையும் நாட்டையும் பாதுகாப்பர். எனவே புத்தாண்டையும் அதைத் தொடர்ந்து வரும் நாள்களையும் எழுச்சியுடன் சந்தோஷமாக கொண்டாடுங்கள் என்று தனது புத்தாண்டு வாழ்த்தையும் பொதுமக்களுக்கு விடுத்துள்ளார் ஒபாமா.

கருத்துக்கள்

அரசாங்கம் மக்களுக்கு எதிராக மேற்கொள்ளும் வன்முறைகளையும் அதைப் பாதுகாத்து உதவும் பிற நாட்டு அரசாங்கங்களின் வன்முறைகளையும் இத்தகைய நாட்டின் படைகள் மேற்கொள்ளும் வன்முறைகளையும் என்றும் சொல்லித்தான் தெரிய வேண்டியதில்லை. எங்களின் அடக்குமுறைகளுக்கு எதிரான உரிமைக்குரல்களும் எங்களைப் பொறுத்த்வரை வன்முறையே! உரிமைக்குரல்களுக்கு எதிரான எங்களின் அடக்குமுறைகளெல்லாம் நன்முறை களே! இவ்வாறு அடக்குமுறையாளர்கள் எண்ணிச் செயல்படுவதையும நிறுத்தினால் உலகில் வன்முறைகள் அழியும்.

Mr. Obama correctly says to destroy the terrorist in his country. We must go back that the terrorist attack our country also, at Munbay last year. During festival times they blast at New delhi and Large number of People were killed by the terrorist.We can say large number of incidences like this. Not only here but also all parts of the world. The America should take severe action against the terrorist. We should support Opama for his action. Those who are against America are sending their children to America for higher studies. They are not sending to Pakisthan , Afhganishthan, Oman etc.for higher studies. It is the duty of American president to safe guard their People. The terrorist what ever religion they belongs should be encountered. It is not the duty of Opama to compromise in Srilanka or elsewhere.It shows that the America should involve in the problems of other countries. It is not correct. He should safeguard his people.

அமைதிக்கான நோபல் பரிசைப் பெற்றவரே! முதலில் தீவிரவாதத்திற்கான காரணம் என்ன என்பதை அறிந்து அதை ஒழிக்கப் பாடுபடுங்கள். இதற்கான உலகளவில் நிறையக் கருத்தரங்கு நடத்துங்கள். பின்னர் தீவிரவாதம் தானாகவே அமுங்கிவிடும். தான் பெரியவன், தன்னினம் பெரிது, தன்நாடுதான் உலகில் வலிமையானது, என்னால் ஆக்கிரமிக்க முடியும் என்பதுபோன்ற பிறரை குறைத்துச் செயல்படும் எண்ணத்தைக் குறைக்க வழிசெய்யுங்கள்.
