Gotabhaya open on demographic genocide

Genocidal Sri Lanka’s presidential sibling Gotabhaya Rajapaksa on Tuesday openly admitted that the Sinhala State’s intention is not giving even provinces to Tamils, but to proceed with demographic genocide to erase out their territorial identity, when he said “alienation of provinces based on ethnicity” was not the solution. What Gotabhaya said was also the thrust of the LLRC report that was internationally legitimised as the basis for solutions in the island by the Washington-initiated and New Delhi-fine tuned resolutions at Geneva. It is increasingly transparent that the Sinhala State’s open boldness, in committing genocide in war and in continuing structural genocide in all its facets, actually stems from a collective agenda of the USA and India, said Tamils for alternative politics in the island.

If China is the reason for the USA and India protecting the genocidal Sinhala State, whether the latter two tell that the genocide will only be complete unless the global Tamils prove themselves a worse threat to the US-Indian interests than the Sinhala State harping on China, the activists for alternative politics asked.

At this juncture much depends on the global Tamils, especially the Tamils in Tamil Nadu, telling these two Establishments to their faces that they would not be ‘engineered’ by the impotency of the two in coursing towards the completion of the annihilation of the nation of Eezham Tamils, the activists in the island said.

If Washington and New Delhi think that what the Sinhala State is doing is the future model for humanity to resolve issues as such of the nation of Eezham Tamils, then the edification of them is the responsibility of entire humanity, the activists said.

Organisations such as the Amnesty International and certain international media that try to project what the genocidal Sinhala State is doing as merely a general human rights issue for the entire island, are in fact subtly shielding the genocide, protecting the genocidal integrity of the State, detracting liberation and are committing a heinous crime against the norms of entire humanity. Tamils have to first wage their struggle against such international fakes, the activists further said.

On Tuesday, Gotabhaya, the defence Secretary of the genocidal State said that Sri Lanka should not listen to India on the implementation of the 13th Amendment. He was harping on a ’homegrown’ solution.

It is explicitly known in the last more than four years that the homegrown solution is Sinhala militarisation, colonisation, Sinhalicisation, Buddhicisation, and demographic cum structural genocide of the nation of Eezham Tamils.

“If there is a problem it should only be solved by Sri Lankans and not India,” the presidential sibling deservingly thrashed on the face of Washington and New Delhi that had mobilised 30 to 40 sheep in the name of governments to help the Sinhala state quenching its genocidal blood thirst.

But Gotabhaya was confident: “This should not be an issue to strain our relationship, and I’m of the view that India understands that,” Gotabhaya was cited saying by Colombo’s Daily Mirror on Tuesday.

Of course, from Natchiappan of the Sonia Congress to Swapan Dasgupta of the BJP-RSS-Shiv Sena lot and from the Chennai-based The Hindu to the Mumbai-based Times group, there are many in India prepared to show generous understanding towards the genocidal State, commented activists for alternative politics in the island.

Gotabhaya names TamilNet a ‘security threat’

While listing ‘national’ security threats faced by genocidal Sri Lanka, its Defence Secretary and presidential sibling Gotabhaya Rajapaksa included the name of TamilNet and said that it is controlled by the Tamil Coordinating Committee, led by Nediyavan, which in turn has control over most of the assets of the LTTE’s international organisation. Gotabhaya who said it on 13 June, while addressing the Kotelawela Defence University, also said that now all the various intelligence services of his State are brought under one Chief of National Intelligence, who reports directly to him (as Defence Secretary). What Gotabhaya said on TamilNet either shows the ignorance of his intelligence or his intention to distort TamilNet’s image. TamilNet challenges him on the truth of his statement.

The LTTE’s “former procurement chief Kumaran Pathmanadan, better known as KP, took control over this [LTTE] network and indicated that it would continue to work for the separatist cause through peaceful means. However, a breakaway faction emerged almost immediately, led by Nediyawan, who wanted to continue Prabhakaran's ideology of violence. Nediyawan's group, was previously known as The Tamil Eelam People's Assembly or the Tamil National Council and is now known as the Tamil Coordinating Committee, Based in Norway, this group has been working with other international groups to promote the LTTE's separatist cause in many parts of the world. The Tamil Coordinating Committee has control over most of the assets of the LTTE's international organisation, including its media networks such as Tamil Net,” Gotabhaya said.

In November 2012, the International Crisis Group (ICG), in its Asia Report, Number 239, published a similar statement on TamilNet, but silently withdrew it after challenged by TamilNet.

It is likely that one of the sources that fabricated the story about TamilNet, and is keen in reasserting to it, has now advanced it through Gotabhaya’s written speech. Such is the state of affairs of Sri Lanka’s ‘intelligence’.

Gotabhaya was lecturing on “Sri Lanka’s National Security Concerns” to the faculty and students of the Kotelawala Defence University, on the occasion of the university’s inauguration of M.Phil/ Ph.D programme.

Kotelawala Defence University seems to have now become the hub for evolving an intelligence-based, elite military rule of the island. In his speech, Gotabhaya was envisaging that “as Sri Lanka moves forward, it is hoped that the Intelligence agencies will be able to keep track of and contain domestic National Security concerns.”

Last month, Sri Lanka’s Terrorism Professor in Singapore, Rohan Gunaratna came out with all praises for the Kotelawala Defence University and its military Vice-Chancellor, General Milinda Peiris. He projected the military university a model for higher education in the island and wanted other universities to follow it.

Describing internationalization of the Sri Lankan situation as a main national security threat, Gotabhaya was talking of “keeping adverse external influences at bay.”

He was referring to India training LTTE in Tamil Nadu, the Thimpu talks arranged by India and the grave consequences that would have come had Sri Lanka not refused to the demands and India directly intervening in 1987 as the first phase.

In the next phase of internationalization, the Norway-mediated Ceasefire Agreement came, he said, adding that in 2009, the foreign ministers of France and the UK attempted to intervene in the military campaign.

Gotabhaya was viewing the Geneva Resolutions of 2012 and 2013 as further internationalization.

According to Gotabhaya, one third of the TGTE members, “loyal to Nediyawan went against the leadership of Rudrakumaran because they wished to engage in more radical action,” the GTF emerged with many of the same members as the BTF, and all the LTTE-linked groups are coordinated by the GTF and united by one overarching objective.

“Some of the efforts of these LTTE-linked groups have been successful to a certain extent in that despite the war having ended four years ago, the internal affairs of Sri Lanka have been kept at the forefront of the UNHRC's Sessions as well as at the top of the agenda of several prominent international NGOs even in the recent past.”

“Though they [Tamil political parties in the island] appear to have a democratic face, their actions and remarks clearly show that the extremist separatist ideology has not yet disappeared. Their ultimate objective is achieving the division of Sri Lanka. As a result of their actions and statements, it is very much a possibility that certain radical elements will feel empowered to once again attempt to take up arms in the name of separation. This is a major National Security threat that needs to be taken with the utmost seriousness.”

Gotabhaya was equally vilifying the Muslims:

“After the LTTE's defeat, some of these groups [Muslims] have begun to engage in activities that stem far beyond self-protection. There is some information that some of these groups have even tried to link up with the global Islamic terrorist movement.”

“It is clear that there are some in the Tamil community who identify themselves more with the Tamil community of Tamil Nadu than with their fellow Sri Lankans. This has been encouraged by some parties overseas who wish to promote the idea of a greater Tamil Nation.”

“Similarly, it has been observed that there are some foreign groups that wish to encourage Sri Lankan Muslims to identify themselves more with the global Muslim community, thereby reducing their integration within Sri Lanka.”

Gotabhaya was defending the racism in Sinhalese as a response to Tamil and Muslim politics.

The presidential sibling targeted India and the West with a special reference to Tamil Nadu:

“In addition to military supplies, the LTTE's cadres were initially trained at bases in Tamil Nadu. Given the recent activities of LTTE-linked organisations outside Sri Lanka and particularly in Tamil Nadu, this is very much a current threat even today.”

He was referring to “incidence of pirate fishing in Sri Lankan waters by South Indian fishermen.”

“Protecting our waters from these fishermen, as well as from others who might seek to exploit our other oceanic resources including oil and gas, will be one of the key maritime security challenges for Sri Lanka in the future.”

In today's environment, the possibility of foreign interference in our internal affairs remains a significant National Security concern. With the involvement of countries like India, Norway, and the United States of America in Sri Lanka as a result of the terrorist conflict, matters relating to this country's internal affairs have gained increased visibility within the international community.”

“India in particular is very sensitive to what is going on in Sri Lanka because of the large Tamil population in its influential southern state of Tamil Nadu. Especially during the elections cycle, Sri Lanka figures large in its power politics.”

“In the recent past, we have seen even the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu attempting to pressurise the central government into opposing Sri Lanka internationally. This is a serious threat to Sri Lanka's security, and perhaps even its sovereignty.”

“There is a possibility that some western powers wish to have a Sri Lankan Government that is closely aligned with their interests, and will seek to influence Sri Lanka's destiny so that it cannot pursue the independent course it is following at present.”

“The likelihood of the United States showing more interest in the region and aligning more with India is a factor that may affect Sri Lanka. Further, its establishment of a base in the Maldives is also changing the complexion of the region. These are developments that need to be monitored from the point of view of Sri Lanka's national security.”

In facing his ‘national’ security concerns, Gotabhaya was harping on intelligence, militarization on North and East, biometric ‘nationalisation’ of even body, and strengthening special relationship with China and Russia:

“It is essential for the military to be placed in strategic locations throughout Sri Lanka. Particularly in the North and East, where we know that there are still potential threats to National Security.”

“It must also be underscored that as a Sovereign nation, Sri Lanka has every right to place its security elements in any part of the country it so chooses.”

According to the Defence Secretary, his genocidal Sinhala military enjoys a ‘cordial’ relationship with Tamils:

“While some in the international community talk about the so-called militarisation of the North and East, and some political parties in Sri Lanka decry the presence of the military in these areas, it must also be understood that the people of the North and East mostly have a very cordial relationship with the military.”

Gotabhaya, learning from the West on making every human body a matter for scrutiny by State, wants a new biometric identification system for the peoples of the island as well as visitors:

“To address this critical weakness [in the existing identification system], the Registrar of Persons Department was brought under the Ministry of Defence & Urban Development, and a new identity card system that uses biometric information will be introduced shortly.”

“The problem of people coming into Sri Lanka and staying here illegally under false pretences will be addressed through the introduction of a proper border control system in which biometric information will be incorporated into the passport and international standards used for identity verification.”

“Finally, with regard to external threats, it is of the utmost importance that Sri Lanka maintains cordial relationships with its allies.”

“Despite the present pressure from Tamil Nadu, it is essential to maintain a strong and healthy relationship with India.”

“Relations with the many countries that helped us in the past, both in economic terms and through political support, should be strengthened further through skilful diplomacy and further development of mutual ties.”

“It is essential to further strengthen the existing cordial relationships with powerful nations such as China and Russia, which have permanent seats on the United Nations Security Council and can influence any international action on Sri Lanka more significantly than other nations,” Gotabhaya concluded.

However, including the genocidal approach to the national question of Eezham Tamils, the policies, orientation and actions of Gotabhaya as a US citizen, cannot really be in contradiction with the ‘national security concerns’ of the USA, political observers said.

Political solution figured nowhere in Gotabhaya's speech that was calling for ‘Sri Lankan-ness’ and was talking of military, economy, and diplomacy.

Gotabhaya statement reconfirms emptiness in PC model

While New Delhi and Washington harp on either the 13th Amendment or holding Northern Provincial Elections (NPC) as solutions to the national question in the island of Sri Lanka, a statement coming from SL presidential sibling Gotabhaya Rajapaksa reconfirms the unworkable nature of the Provincial Council (PC) model in a unitary constitution of the Sinhala state, Tamil political observers in the island said. Mr Gotabhaya Rajapaksa was warning the government of his brother Mahinda Rajapaksa that giving police and land powers to the provinces meant that the Northern Province comprising the districts of Jaffna, Mullaiththeevu, Vavuniyaa, Mannaar and Ki'linochchi could pose a ‘major security challenge’, reported the Island on Thursday.

If even the police and land powers to the provincial councils that are already there in the 13th Amendment cannot be implemented, how could ‘lasting solutions’ could be arrived at through the unitary constitution of the Sri Lankan state, the observers further commented.

"I cannot impose my will on the political establishment. But, I intend to tell those who still consider the 13th Amendment as panacea for all our ills, it’ll be the primary cause for another conflict," Mr Gotabhaya Rajapakasa, was quoted by the The Island as saying.

Gotabhaya was responding on Thursday to a statement attributed to SL minister Anura Priyadharshana Yapa on Wednesday, when the SL minister ruled out the possibility of ‘diluting the 13th Amendment’ before the elections to the NPC.

Already, 6 months ago, the Colombo-based newspaper said, “Gotabhaya Rajapaksa likened the 13th Amendment to the Norway arranged Ceasefire Agreement (CFA) finalized in Feb 2002.”

Paraphrasing Gotabhaya as saying that the 13th Amendment was nothing but an impediment to the post-war development process, the paper on 13 October, 2012, quoted him as saying that "[t]he 13th Amendment and the CFA didn’t serve the people of Sri Lanka. Instead, they facilitated interests of various other parties, including the LTTE. Interestingly both supported the separatist cause,” The Island quoted the SL presidential sibling as saying.

Sri Lanka’s Archbishop and a Cardinal of Vatican, His Eminence Malcolm Ranjith had personally come along with genocidal Colombo’s Defence Secretary and presidential sibling Gotabhaya Rajapaksa in grabbing Mu’l’lik-ku’lam village in Mannaar district for a naval base of the occupying Sinhala military and declaring the village out of bounds for its resettling inhabitants, news sources in Mannaar said. The Sinhala Archbishop had come and the Tamil Bishop of Mannaar, Rayappu Joseph, was made to silently sit along with him at the conference called by Gotabhaya at Mu’l’likku’lam on 26 December, in coercing the largely Tamil Catholic villagers to the sulking reconciliation of accepting alternative offers of land, the news sources further said.

The Tamil Catholic villagers, who were owning more than 1 acre of land per family as an average, are now given with half an acre per family 750 meters outside of the village and a ‘promise’ from Gotabhaya that a ‘state of the art’ village would be built for them having the Sinhala military of genocidal intent at their neighbourhood.

It is now learnt that the Bishop of Mannaar was pressurized and coerced by both the Sinhala Archbishop and the SL Defence Secretary to silently present himself at the militarisation cum land-grab conference.

Many villagers became silent after seeing the Bishop of Mannaar at the conference, news sources said.

The Bishop of Mannaar later admitted to journalists, “there was nothing to take place through talks.”

The Mu’l’likku’lam Sinhala Naval base in the Musali division of Mannaar district as well as militarization of Mannaar are particularly aimed at Sinhalicisation and dismemberment of the Tamil homeland on one hand, and on the other hand, wedging cum targeting the Tamil Nadu coast on the opposite side that has a predominant population of Tamil Catholics of the same clans, commented Catholic circles of the Western coast.

The Sinhalicized Tamil Catholics of Puththa’lam, Gampaha and Colombo districts now realize the dismemberment of their own territoriality in the island, their loss of language and loss of communication with their own clans on the opposite coast with whom they were sharing the waters throughout in history, the Catholic circles commented further.

The river flowing and entering the Gulf of Mannaar at Mu'l'likku'lam is the boundary between the Northern and the North Western Provinces. The Vilpattu reserved forest south of the boundary was scattered with a number of Tamil villages before it was declared a reserved forest in 1903. The Tamil territory was contiguous up to Negombo in the Western Province at that time, before the Sinhalicisation of the Tamil Catholics of today's Puththa'lam and Gampaha districts. The Sinhala Archbishop Malcolm Ranjith has gone on record on several occasions for siding with the regime in Colombo and subtly shielding the regime’s genocide against Tamils.

It was the Bishop of Mannaar who boldly came forward to enlighten the world on the disappearances in the Vanni War running into a figure of 146,000.

The Bishop was also leading the civil society movement of Eezham Tamils in recent times.

Writing last month, Dr. Brian Seneviratne, Australian human rights activist of Sinhala origin steadfastly supporting Tamil rights, said the following:

“It concerns me greatly that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has just sent officers to question (intimidate) the outspoken Rt Rev Dr Rayappu Joseph, the Roman Catholic Bishop of Mannar in the Tamil North. The next step will be that he will ‘disappear’ in a white van – be ‘white vanned’. That is why the world must be informed, which is what I have been trying to do.

“The Pope will have to act. After all, it is one of his flock who is under (real) threat. Will he? I doubt it. I have a photograph of the Pope clasping the blood-stained hands of Mahinda Rajapaksa - clasping it not with one hand but with both!

“Vatican diplomacy has blessed many of the tyrants and torturers of recent history, betraying Catholic idealists in Singapore to Lee Kuan Yew, and secretly exerting pressure on the British government to free ‘Torturer-in-Chief’, former General Augusto Pinochet, who was arrested in Britain and was wanted by Spain to face charges of murder and torture. The Vatican’s unfitness for any role in world affairs could hardly have been better illustrated.

“So I am not holding my breath that the Vatican will act even though Bishop Rayappu Joseph may well be the Sri Lankan version of Archbishop Oscar Romero of El Salvador who was executed by government gunmen when he raised the Chalice celebrating Holy Communion.”

Gotabhaya appropriates whole village in Mannaar

An entire Eezham Tamil village, Mu’l’lik-ku’lam in the Musali division of Mannaar district, has been declared out of bounds for its uprooted residents by SL defence Secretary and presidential sibling Gotabhaya Rajapaksa visiting the village on Wednesday. The entire village will be used for a military base of the occupying Sinhala forces and to serve as a hub for the Sinhalicisation and Colonisation process of the land and waters of the strategic locality in the Mannaar district. Nobody would be allowed to resettle within a perimeter of 750 meters of the Mu’l’likku’lam village, Gotabhaya said at a meeting held at the SL Naval Base established there on Wednesday between 10:30 am and 1:30 pm.

The ‘conference’ was attended by Ravindra Silva, the Sinhala Government Agent of Mannaar, K.Ketheesvaran, the divisional secretary of Musali, Bishop of the Mannaar Diocese Rt.Rev. Dr. Rayappu Joseph, Rev. Fr. Ranjit and the commanding officers of the occupying Sinhala Army in Mannaar and Vavuniyaa.

The villagers, displaced from Musali, have been temporarily staying in Peasaalai, Thaazhvup-paddu, Keeri and in Thalaimannaar and have been subjected to various harassments by the SL military throughout the last five years.

A section of the uprooted people from Mu'l'lik-ku'lam attempted to enter their lands six months ago. Some of the families have been residing at Kaayaang-kudi and at Malang-kaadu.

Now it is learnt that 450 acres, at the rate of half an acre per family, have been allotted for these people to resettle away from the village. They have been informed that they could visit schools and religious places but not to their abandoned houses in Mu'l'likku'lam.

After the SLN camp meeting was over, Gotabhaya held discussions with members of the public assembled there. At the discussion some of them have consented to accept alternative lands leaving their own lands in Mu'l'likku'lam.

More than 4,500 civilians were forced to flee Mu'l'likku'lam and surrounding villages in the Musali division in September 2007.

Since their eviction, the people of Mu'l'likku'lam have been continuously protesting and demanding return to their village for resettlement. They have been appealing to the SL authorities for five years. The ruling UPFA politicians have been neglecting all their demands.

TNA seeks bearings while Gotabhaya proves futility of Indo-US cosmetic solutions

Genocidal Sri Lanka’s presidential sibling Gotabhaya Rajapaksa on last Thursday called for the abolition of the New Delhi-architected 13th Amendment to the constitution without further delays, reported The Island, last Friday. Gotabhaya compared the Amendment to the 2002 Ceasefire Agreement (CFA) in facilitating separatism. Rejecting SL military pullout from the Tamil territories and upholding ‘majoritarian’ rule of the island, he also implied what course would be taken by the LLRC implementation legitimised by the USA at Geneva. Meanwhile, writing to The Island on Thursday, TNA’s nominated parliamentarian Mr Sumanthiran, asked what hope is there in TNA participating the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) of Rajapaksa regime to discuss solutions.

Outlining the long history of the past betrayals, and the course of current happenings, Sumanthiran concluded, “The TNA cannot be coaxed into the PSC with the ulterior motive of making a ‘majority decision’ there.”

“The problem of majoritarianism cannot be solved by means of a majoritarian approach,” Sumanthiran further said, hinting at the impossibility of resolving the conflict through the majority–minority models currently patronized by India and the USA, resulting from their insistence of perceiving the island as one unit.

Harping on the ‘battlefield victory’ achieved through genocidal means abetted by the powers, the SL Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa was now professing on the need to reject external interferences and said that it was a joke that the TNA now tried to achieve what the LTTE failed with its conventional military power.

Gotabhaya however acknowledged that the separatist sentiments were still strong, despite the ‘battlefield victory’. No political reconciliation, but further militarisation and structural genocide were the thrust of his thinking in meeting the situation.

Past experiences repeatedly showed that whatever the Rajapaksa regime said were actually the voices of the dark forces in the portals of the powers.

Alternative political activists among the Eezham Tamils were thankful to Gotabhaya for exposing the futility of the cosmetic approaches of the real international culprits to the edification of those who were singing the song of the 13th Amendment and the LLRC implementation.

India’s Zee News on Thursday said that New Delhi would continue its military exercise and training programmes with Sri Lanka in India, such as the SLINEX (Sri Lanka–India Exercise), avoiding the southern states.

"The Defence Ministry has advised us to hold the SLINEX-series exercises with our Sri Lankan counterparts away from the coasts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Karnataka," an Indian Navy official was cited by the Zee News.

The Indian aid programmes such as housing and building schools for Eezham Tamils are eyewash, aiming propaganda but lacking substance, social workers in Vanni said. Old buildings with little cosmetic renovation and whitewash are claimed as Indian donations, the social workers said.

The TNA statement on return from New Delhi earlier this week was full of thanks to Indian aid and political efforts, besides harping on the LLRC implementation.

Eezham Tamils have not sufficiently reached out to the world in internationalising their struggle. They keep it to themselves. They fought politically; they fought militarily, but no returns. How do they plan to meet the future? – This was a comment heard recently from an international journalist.

Perhaps it is time for the TNA to tell to the face of New Delhi and Washington of the futility of their models, declare non-cooperation if the powers are not relenting and prepare the masses in collaboration with the diaspora and Tamil Nadu for an international struggle, commented the alternative political activists in the island.

Gotabhaya schemes ‘Guantanamo Bay’ in Galle

Sri Lankan Defence Secretary and SL presidential sibling Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has instructed the SL police to transfer all Tamil political prisoners from the ‘declared’ prisons in the North and East to the notorious Boosa detention camp in the Galle town of the Southern Province, informed sources in Colombo said. The instruction has been given at a meeting convened by Gotabhaya Rajapaksa on 17 July. The Tamil Prisoners of War and political prisoners are going to be further isolated from the outside world. The families of ex-Tiger members and those held under alleged association with the LTTE have expressed fear on the deteriorating security situation of their family members in the custody of the occupying Sri Lankan forces.

The latest move comes at a time when the SL government has been engaged in a propaganda drive claiming that it was processing the release of Tamil prisoners who are not indicted.

After the US-tabled resolution at the UN Human Rights Council in March 2012, the Sri Lankan stepped up its propaganda saying it would set up special courts in Mannaar and Colombo and expedite legal proceedings against the Prisoners of War and political prisoners within three months time.

In the meantime, there are allegations of a number of undeclared detention camps where Tamil POWs and those who have been abducted by the occupying SL military, are detained without any registration with the ICRC or the IOM.

The Tamil National Alliance (TNA), which participated in six rounds of talks with the Rajapaksa government, was given a false promise that the SL government would release the details of Tamil prisoners. But, to date, no details have been released.

US commander, Indian defence minister assure military aid to Gotabhaya in Singapore

The Chairman of the US Joint Chief of Staff, General Martin Dempsey, the top most US military commander and Indian Defence Minister A.K. Anthony met genocidal Sri Lanka’s war-crimes-accused Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa behind the screen in Singapore on Tuesday to assure him of their military assistance, especially in the naval field. The high profile meeting took place while Mahinda Rajapaksa was being hosted in London and the US ambassador-designate to Colombo was talking about ‘de-militarisation’ of the north in the island. Singapore Foreign Minister Shanmugam was in Colombo a few days earlier to talk ‘business’. Following the classic British colonial strategy, Sri Lanka, Burma and Singapore are mobilised to meet threats from the East, analysts said.

Washington and New Delhi have agreed to provide enhanced training opportunities for the genocidal Sinhala Navy.

Grooming the Sinhala Navy is a pet project of Gotabhaya Rajapaksa for the permanent subjugation of the nation of Eezham Tamils and to counter any future assistance coming to it from the Tamil brethren across the straits in Tamil Nadu.

The genocidal Sinhala regimes have long been working on choking the coasts of Eezham Tamils. Currently the two-prong mission of the Colombo regime is to build naval bases all along the coasts of Eezham Tamils and to colonise their coasts by Sinhala fishermen.

The Sinhala Navy killing and intimidating the fishermen of Tamil Nadu is a decades-long story.

The Eezham Tamils and Tamils in Tamil Nadu have to be clear on the fact that ultimately it is New Delhi and Washington that permanently militarise and Sinhalicise the lands and waters of the Tamils.

It will be a folly if any one expects them to pursue war crimes of the Sinhala military or stop Sinhala militarisation, colonisation Buddhicisation and structural genocide of Eezham Tamils, unless the Tamils prove their geopolitical strength, analysts in Chennai said.

The Sri Lanka Foreign Ministry statement on the Gotabhaya deal said that the US and India commended the “incremental and steady progress” made in Sri Lanka’s north and east in rehabilitating the war displaced.

Press Trust of India (PTI) carried a story of Colombo on Tuesday that it has reduced 60 per cent of its troops from the Jaffna Peninsula – from 50,000 to 15,000.

Contrary to Colombo’s statement on drastic reduction of its military in the north, the Sinhala military personally supervised by Gotabhaya and encouraged by New Delhi and Washington, is expanding its bases in the north, especially in the Jaffna Peninsula. Media, civic bodies and civil officials have brought it out with evidence.

The British Queen hosting genocidal Rajapaksa was not an isolated event.

Prior to the visit of Rajapaksa, the Colombo government had extended an invitation to a group of Conservative members of the British parliament to visit the island’s North to see what it is doing there.

The invitation had been extended to British parliamentarians including Dr. Liam Fox, the discredited former UK defence minister and a known friend of the Sinhala state, after initiatives by Colombo’s professorial expert in wagging tongue, Rajiva Wijesinha, and SL Presidential Advisor Arun Tambimuttu, who comes from a long lineage of exploited Tamil culture.


The other British parliamentarians responded were David Amess, Guto Bebb, Nick de Bois, Alun Cairns, Alan Duncan, Sheryll Murray, Richard Ottaway, Andrew Turner and James Wharton, media reports from Colombo said.

The visiting British diplomats to Jaffna earlier were keen in seeing and assisting the occupying Sinhala military ‘rehabilitating’ the former Tamil militants.

Documents dating from days prior to the genocidal war would show how the British foreign office was pivotal in conceiving ‘militarized reconciliation’ as answer to the question of Eezham Tamils.

The British and international media that were silent when the genocide was taking place are now engaged in ‘exclusive phased release’ of the war crimes to occupy and deviate the world from the actual issue and from the real criminals. It is a world that does ‘business’ from everything. But the real criminals who criminalise States all over the world continue their games unabated and the pampering of the Sri Lankan state is one of the best of the examples.

After proving its capacity for genocide, the Sinhala military has now ‘graduated’ to get recognized as a potential major mercenary for the criminalised international system by the so-called international community as well as by India and China.

The British military strategy during the Second World War in protecting its Raj in India from the Japanese was heavily depending on Singapore, Burma and Ceylon.

After the fall of Singapore and Burma to the Japanese, Ceylon became the headquarters of the Southeast Asia Command of Mountbatten, who was directing the war from Kandy and Trincomalee. The war between 1942 and 1945 was fought from Ceylon mainly to open the Burma Road to China.

If the Chinese have replaced the Japanese today, once again Singapore, Sri Lanka and Burma are important to the successors of the British empire in the region – India and the USA.

The Norwegian peace facilitators coming out with identical models to Burma and Sri Lanka in asking the affected nations there to find reconciliation under the genocidal constitutions and military of those states, and the outfit of the West, the International Crisis Group (ICG) standing upside down in canvassing among Eezham Tamils to drop their claim for self-determination, have to be carefully understood in the historical perspective of imperialism.

If political consolidation and stability are the ones that are expected in these countries, that could be very well achieved by first recognising the right to self determination of the affected nations and then working for genuine reconciliation, both at country level as well as regional level.

For outfits that were able to orchestrate 30 odd countries to architect and end a war into genocide, it is not that difficult to smoothly bring in reconciliation after secession if they really wish it. But these outfits and crisis managers are destructive rather than constructive, and they don’t conceive anything beyond militarism.

In short, the Sinhala military – virtually a mercenary military for the ‘strategic partnership’ of India and the international community, conceived and architected by Robert Blake – is going to stay with its ever-expanding cantonments in the country of Eezham Tamils, feeding on them in every respect.

The ‘reconciliation’ they all talk is the militarized reconciliation, in other words, the Eezham Tamils reconciling to live with the Sinhala military and its Sinhalicisation.

So far no one has investigated who was behind awarding the Gucci Peace Award in Philippines to Maj. Gen. Hathurusinghe, presiding over the militarisation and structural genocide.

One has to carefully note the catalogue of encouragements the Sinhala military was getting from the US and India, and the confidence with witch the Rajapaksa brothers operate, before being carried away by rhetoric such as the call for de-militarisation coming from the US ambassador-designate to Colombo.

The Sinhala military is precious and indispensable to India and the US, unless the Tamils politically prove otherwise.

Logically, the proving exercise has to be primarily addressed to New Delhi and only the Tamils of Tamil Nadu could do it.

Increasingly a credible suspicion falls on the establishment in New Delhi, whether the patronisation of the genocidal Sinhala military in the island is merely for larger geopolitical reasons or for internal reasons considering Tamils as worse enemies than the Sinhalese.

For several decades now, a set of diplomats particularly coming from the south of India and media persons from Cho Ramasamy to The Hindu Ram, as friends of Colombo, were steadily contributing to the current scenario.

The immediate neighbours will be the first to face the Domino Effect of criminalisation of State in the island.

The Tamil Nadu branch of the Marxist Communist Party of India (CPI-M) recently voiced for de-militarisation as a passing reference. As an all-India party it could have acted on it at a mass level, but perhaps the party doesn’t believe the de-militarisation could ever happen.

If comes to power, the BJP may turn out to be worse.

The signals have already come from Sushma Swaraj in twisting the aspirations of Eezham Tamils.

Speaking on 30 May on the future of India’s foreign policy at the Brookings Institution of the USA, the former Foreign Minister of India and BJP stalwart, Yashwant Sinha instilled a feeling in the audience that how for those who are sitting in New Delhi, China and Pakistan pervert everything else.

Even when the moderator Teresita Schaffer tried to put him on track with the other neighbouring countries he was vague especially with an important topic as such of Sri Lanka.

He said, muscle will be met with muscle regarding China, and it will be verification first and trust later with Pakistan, if the BJP comes to power. He wanted the US and the NATO to stay in Afghanistan until the country is militarily self-sufficient to meet the Taliban.

“In our world today, economic and military power has a direct bearing on the moral and the pragmatic stance of nations,” he observed.

The Sinhala diplomats have carefully comprehended the needs and they have already started acting on it to suit even when a regime change may take place in New Delhi.

100,000 Indian students study in the USA and the Indian diaspora in the USA numbers around 3 million, Sinha said.

Of course there were some of them in the audience to ask him what his party is doing to Hindus in Pakistan and to the Kashmiri Pandits displaced to other parts of India. But there was no one to ask him about the Tamils afflicted by an India-abetted genocide.

What the Tamil Nadu politics is going to do is of historic importance.

The post-war politicians of Eezham Tamils in the island and political claimants in the diaspora think that they are made for ‘negotiations’ only. Mediocre among them are carefully groomed because they only will suit the purposes of the establishments.

Leadership comes through struggle and through building the nation. If negotiation without having anything is politics then we could hire some international lawyers and keep relaxed as we earlier left the fighting to the LTTE.

Someone pointed out Akashi telling the example of the defeated Japanese compromising with the occupying US military and later prospering. Japan paranoid of its own atrocities committed in China for decades, and fearing the traditional enemy China more than the new enemy the USA, took that decision. Eezham Tamils did not fight for an empire or did not invade others to be paranoid of a struggle. They righteously struggle against genocide. Whom should we fear and with which military are we going to compromise?

We have to make it clear that the struggle of our small nation is not actually against the powers but against the erring forces in the establishments of the powers that criminalise States. In such a struggle even the peoples of the powers would join us, if the case were presented in a proper way to the masses. The Vietnam War was primarily won inside the USA. Our struggle has to be primarily won inside India.

Unfortunately we are yet to evolve a leadership that believes in the power of the people and in mobilising the masses. We have not even tried it with honesty before deciding mass politics is useless to the structure and nature of our people.

The events of this week showed how the masses were spontaneous and were prepared to tell what they think to the face of the former empire, but the leadership claimants were not.

A veteran Tamil activist asked why a section of Tamil media was intriguing against masses showing protest to the Queen dining with Rajapaksa. At the initial times of the post-Mu’l’livaaykkaal phase itself, when this section stood against popular re-mandate of the Vaddukkoaddai Resolution, the diaspora Tamils should have identified the shade of polity.

All are Sinhalese, Tamils have no territorial right: Gotabhaya

“Earlier before the war all were Sinhalese,” in Sri Lanka. It is not appropriate to view the north of the country, over which a separatist war was fought, as a predominantly Tamil area, SL presidential sibling and defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa was cited saying by the BBC News that interviewed him in Colombo. Commenting, a political analyst in the island said: The Rajapaksa regime, including its former military commander Sarath Fonseka, has been repeatedly reflecting only the pathological aspiration of the Sinhala nation to make State exclusive for it in the island. India and the USA unnecessarily blight it, rather than conceding to the innate reality of allowing the Sinhala nation to have its trouble-free State by separating the country of Eezham Tamils.

The analyst also pointed out how the BBC News, falling in line with the agenda of the USA, its self-styled international community and India, projects a simulated picture of the realities.

“Many Tamils favour provincial devolution to give them a greater voice in areas where they predominate. The government and the largest Tamil party have been holding talks on this issue, but these have currently stalled,” said Charles Haviland of the BBC News, reporting the interview from Colombo on Monday.

From the Eezham Tamil public to serious Sri Lanka watchers know well that reducing the liberation aspirations of the genocide-facing Eezham Tamils to mere non-descript ‘devolution of powers to provinces’ is the simulation of the establishments in Washington and New Delhi.

From New Delhi’s Natchiappans, Shushmas and Rangarajan’s to Washington-IC’s Blakes and Solheims, and from The Hindu to now the BBC, simulate the same false picture against all realities, to thrust an agenda with which a genocidal war was masterminded. Only the nuances differ: whether to protect Rajapaksa – their tool in the agenda – openly or with a smokescreen, the political analyst in Colombo said.

According to informed circles, an orchestration is now taking place behind the screen to trap the 'articulating' actors of the diaspora in the USA and in London to fall in line with the hijacked polity of the TNA.

Tamils in the island, in Tamil Nadu and in the diaspora have to critically note what Haviland has simulated than what Gotabhaya has said. Why couldn't they see the mandate for independence enacted and re-enacted by Eezham Tamils in the island and in the diaspora, and call for a UN referendum to find out for themselves before passing judgements, asked the political analyst.

The BBC on Monday cited Gotabhaya defending Sinhala colonization and demographic genocide of Eezham Tamils as the right of the Sinhalese. “I'm not talking about the forced settlements, I'm talking about the freedom for a Sri Lankan to live anywhere in this country," Gotabhaya said, asking, whether the Tamils were correct in viewing the north as a predominantly Tamil place.

According to SL government census only 7,400 northern ‘Sri Lankans’ were killed during the last months of the war, while on the side of the SL soldiers, 6000 lost life.

Gotabhaya in the interview said that there were only a few civilians who were killed in the crossfire between the SL Army and the ‘terrorists’.

He meant that a vast majority of even that contracted number of 7,400 were the LTTE combatants.

Census had been taken by visiting family after family, Gotabhaya said, adding that on alleged violations, the responsibility is for others to prove.

"Then we can punish, no problem, but you have to prove that," Gotabhaya said.

The released genocide general Sarath Fonseka also has recently said that the SL Army had made no mistakes.

On the postwar violations Gotabhaya said, "These are lies... to prevent the visitors coming into Sri Lanka, the investment coming to Sri Lanka, to give a wrong image of Sri Lanka by the rump of this LTTE which is remaining outside and trying to damage the image of Sri Lanka."

The confidence of Gotabhaya and Sarath Fonseka to speak in these terms basically comes from the support the USA and India have given and internationalized through the UN, for the implementation of Sri Lanka’s LLRC report that is nothing but a convenient smokescreen to erase crimes and to complete the genocide, commented the political analyst in Colombo.
