SL immigration officials ‘investigate’ Canadian Tamil MP in Jaffna

Following the interrogation on Tuesday by the Sri Lankan Terrorist Investigation Department, who placed the visiting Eezham Tamil parliamentarian from Canada, Ms Rathika Sitsabaiesan, from 7:00 p.m. to midnight under an unofficial house-arrest, the immigration officials of occupying Colombo have subjected her for a second round of investigations Wednesday noon. As the Canadian MP was on a private visit to the island, the SL immigration officials would be carrying out an investigation to see whether she had violated the kind of visa utilized to her, the officers have told Wednesday.

In the meantime, the Sri Lankan military and the police establishment attempted to avoid focus on the ‘house arrest’ issue after the Canadian High Commission intervened Tuesday night.

Following a so-called mutual understanding of getting Sri Lankan immigration officials to investigate her further on alleged violation of ‘visitor visa’, the SL military and police were ‘withdrawn’ from Tilko hotel Tuesday night, but the MP was not available for communication, news sources in Jaffna said.

Ex Indian health minister tells UN to investigate Tamil genocide

New Delhi’s former Health Minister, Dr. Anpumani Ramadoss revealed to the UNHRC on Tuesday about a serious genocidal crime, demographic genocide through forced sterilisation and abortions that is being carried by the Sri Lankan State on Eezham Tamils. He was citing recent reports of local human rights groups and a 2007 Wikileaks document of the US State Department. Saying that as a physician and former health minister of India he was outraged, he called upon the UNHRC to establish an independent, international commission of inquiry to investigate Sri Lanka’s past and present war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide against Tamils.

Dr. A. Ramadoss, leader of the Pattali Makkal Katchi of Tamil Nadu, was Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare in the Congress led government in New Delhi from May 2004 to April 2009. He resigned in 2009.

சென்னை:இலங்கை சென்ற பா.ஜனதா தலைவர் சுஷ்மா சுவராஜ் உள்ளிட்ட எம்.பி.,க்கள் குழுவிடம், இலங்கை அமைச்சர் டக்ளஸ் தேவானந்தா குறித்து விசாரணை நடத்தக் கோரிய மனுவை, பைசல் செய்யுமாறு, ஐகோர்ட்டில் மனு தாக்கல் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதற்கு பதிலளிக்கும்படி, தமிழக அரசுக்கு நோட்டீஸ் அனுப்ப உத்தரவிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.
மதுரையைச் சேர்ந்த இருளாண்டி என்பவர் டி.ஜி.பி.,க்கு அனுப்பியுள்ள மனுவில், "இலங்கையில் உள்ள தமிழர்களின் நிலை குறித்தும், போரால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட பகுதிகளையும் பார்ப்பதற்காக, பார்லிமென்ட் எதிர்க்கட்சித் தலைவர் சுஷ்மா சுவராஜ் தலைமையில் எம்.பி.,க்கள் குழு, இலங்கை சென்றது.

இந்தியாவில் தேடப்படும் குற்றவாளியாகக் கருதப்படும் டக்ளஸ் தேவானந்தாவை, இந்தக் குழு சந்தித்துப் பேசியுள்ளது.டக்ளஸ் தேவானந்தாவை சந்தித்ததன் மூலம், அவரது முகவரி, இவர்களுக்குத் தெரியும். இவர்களை விசாரித்தால், அவர் எங்கு இருக்கிறார் என்கிற விவரம், போலீசாருக்கு தெரிய வரும். எனவே, இவர்கள் மீது வழக்கு பதிவு செய்து, விசாரிக்க வேண்டும்' எனக் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது.இந்த மனு மீது எந்த நடவடிக்கையும் இல்லாததால், மனுவை பைசல் செய்ய உத்தரவிடக் கோரி, ஐகோர்ட்டில் இருளாண்டி மனு தாக்கல் செய்தார். மனுவை நீதிபதி என்.பால்வசந்தகுமார் விசாரித்தார். மனுவுக்கு பதிலளிக்கும்படி தமிழக அரசுக்கு நோட்டீஸ் அனுப்பவும், ஏற்கனவே நிலுவையில் உள்ள இது போன்ற மனுவோடு சேர்த்து விசாரிக்கும்படியும், நீதிபதி என்.பால்வசந்தகுமார் உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளார்.
