Australia concerned about ‘domestic violence’, not genocide
Australia concerned about
‘domestic violence’, not genocide
Australian Minister for Women, Michaelia Cash, has urged her
colleague, Immigration Minister Peter Dutton, to bar recording artist,
dancer and actor, Chris Brown, from entering Australia for a performance
in December, because of his history of domestic violence, Sky News
reported on Thursday. Australia received genocide-accused Sri Lanka’s
Navy Commander Thisara Samarasinghe as High Commissioner to serve in the
country between July 2011 and February 2015.
Objecting the issue of visa for Chris Brown as a message, the current Australian Minister for Women said, "People need to understand that if you are going to commit domestic violence and then you want to travel around the world there are going to be countries that say to you, 'You cannot come in because you are not of the character we expect in Australia."
Brown was on probation until earlier this year after he pleaded guilty to assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
Coming to Thisara Samarasinghe, in 2011, the Australia branch of the International Commission of Jurists submitted a brief of evidence to the Australian federal police, accusing that ships under command of Samarasinghe were firing on civilians who were fleeing fighting in Sri Lanka’s north-east at the end of the war.
The Australian federal police dismissed the accusation and sought to ‘advise’ the ICJ.
The Australian Greens leader Senator Christine Milne then said that Australia’s decision to accept Samarasinghe’s credentials was flawed. “We have to now have a full and proper review into Australia’s engagement with the completely discredited, anti-democratic, shocking regime that was the Rajapaksa government,” she said.
Thisara Samarasinghe was recalled earlier this year only by a political choice of the changed regime in Colombo.
Earlier this month, Hollywood actress and UN Special Envoy for Refugee Issues at the UNHCR, Angelina Jolie, accused the Islamic State (IS) for using rape as a very effective weapon. But, she presided over a Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict along with the then British Foreign Secretary William Hague in June 2014, which was totally silent on Sri Lanka's use of rape as weapon of genocide against the nation of Eezham Tamils.

Iran seeks international investigation on Hajj tragedy
Iran seeks international investigation on
Hajj tragedy
On a lamentable tragedy of humanity in which around 700 Hajj pilgrims
were killed in a stampede at Mina in Saudi Arabia on Thursday,
“Riyadh's regional rival Iran said 131 of its nationals were among the
victims, and on Friday stepped up its criticism of the kingdom,
demanding that affected countries have a role in the Saudi investigation
into the disaster,” reported AFP, a Western media agency on Friday.
Iran was a strong supporter of Sri Lanka’s ‘sovereignty’, against any
international scrutiny on the genocidal war against the nation of Eezham
Tamils. In 2012, in a show of solidarity, Iran’s military officials
visited Sinhala military occupied Jaffna, on the eve of a UNHRC session
at Geneva.
Several Western countries have their Eezham Tamil ‘citizens’ who were either directly affected or have lost their beloved ones in the genocidal war allowed by the US bandwagon.
Whether they are not considered as real citizens by these countries in responding to calls for international justice, asked Tamil activists for alternative politics in the island.
Leading the main weekly prayers in Tehran on Friday, Iran’s Ayatollah Mohammad Emami Kashani said, "Saudi Arabia is incapable of organising the pilgrimage," adding that "the running of the hajj must be handed over to Islamic states."
Saudi Arabian Health Minister Khaled al-Falih faulted worshippers themselves for the tragedy, saying that if "the pilgrims had followed instructions, this type of accident could have been avoided".

USA sets new stage for Tamil struggle
USA sets new stage for Tamil struggle
Tamils have to understand that there is a ‘profound’ logic in the US
resolution tabled at Geneva on Thursday, ultimately settling for
prodding Eezham Tamils into ‘domestic’ investigation of ‘Sri Lanka’,
just as the USA had set the stage for the genocidal war and the
barbed-wire camps. International investigation for genuine
reconciliation comes only when a war is over. But the war on the nation
of Eezham Tamils is not yet over. It has only entered into another stage
is what the tabled resolution implies. The blessing in disguise is that
Tamils all over the world could now clearly identify the main villains
and their henchmen. Eezham Tamils were long lacking this perception,
commented Tamil activists for alternative politics in the island.
The final draft of the US resolution on ‘Sri Lanka’ was tabled at the 30th session of the UNHRC on Thursday evening.
“Today the United States, Sri Lanka, and our partners tabled a resolution at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva,” US Secretary of State John Kerry said in a statement on Thursday adding that the “Sri Lankan government’s decision to join as a co-sponsor paves the way for all of us to work together [...]”
A motion to extend the time limit to table the resolution up to 6 pm on Thursday was passed at the session by mid noon, indicating tough bargains.

The draft now makes it optional for Colombo to have any shade of international involvement in the investigation.
“The draft resolution, which is likely to pass unanimously next week, refers to the importance of having foreign experts involved in a potential investigation, but does not make the condition mandatory,” said Asian Times on Friday.
“Colombo has lobbied successfully for a watering-down of an earlier motion demanding foreign involvement in any probe into human rights abuses during the 37-year war,” the news report further said.
The USA was also successful in training a section of the TNA in the use of powerful microscopes, for the TNA has discovered virtues in the draft resolution.
“We are of the view that the draft provides a constructive starting point for what will inevitably be a long road to reconciliation," the TNA was cited commenting on the draft.
The TNA also didn’t fail to come out with a note of credit that the draft was a “product of a difficult consensus.”
The news reports didn’t specify who the TNA was.
Mr. M.A. Sumanthiran is known for camping at Geneva.
Meanwhile what price has been paid to Washington and New Delhi by genocidal Colombo for the “difficult consensus” is the question coming from political observers.
