‘LLRC’ Palihakkara expected to replace Military Governor of North

Sri Lankan Military Governor of North, Major General (retd.) G.A. Chandrasiri, on Saturday told his staff that he would resign his job before anyone on the top coming with the instruction of transfer to him, informed civil sources in Jaffna said adding that Colombo's regime-changers have proposed HMGS Palihakkara, who was one of the eight panellists earlier appointed by former SL President Mahinda Rajapaksa to the so-called Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC), which was aimed at buying space and time for Sri Lanka to escape international investigations. Colombo-centric agenda-setters are replacing a military governor with a more sophisticated diplomat concerned with safeguarding the unitary state of Sri Lanka.

The United States of America (USA) is primarily responsible for the hijack of the LLRC drama giving it credibility in its draft resolutions placed at the UN Human Rights Council sessions in Geneva.

The Tamil position has always been that the LLRC is a farce and it is a blueprint for the structural genocide envisaged by the Colombo regime for completion at 2020.

According to LLRC, there should be no ‘ethnic’ districts in the island of Sri Lanka.

Former SL President Mahinda Rajapaksa and his sibling, Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who was the Defence Secretary, were advancing the LLRC-envisaged structural genocide through Sinhala militarisation, Army and Archaeology and colonisation for demographically wedging Northern and Eastern provinces.

HMGS Palihakkara was a former Secretary at the Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry and a former Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

The civil sources in Jaffna in expressed fear that the militarisation will be accelerated in new ways if Sarath Fonseka, the mastermind of the so-called High Security Zones in the North and East, takes charge of the Defence Ministry in Colombo.

In the meantime, EPDP Paramilitary Leader Douglas Devananda, a former cabinet minister in the Rajapaksa regime, has been approaching the personalities of the new regime to maintain his status quo in Jaffna. Mr Devananda, who got in touch with Mr Ranil Wickramasinghe was asked to approach SL President Maithiripala Sirisena. When he attempted to approach Mr Sirisena, he was asked to seek Mr Rajitha Senaratna. Mr Devananda has pleaded with Colombo not to remove the ‘security’ arrangements provided to his group, informed sources told TamilNet.
